Վերջին շրջանում բավականին ակտիվ գործընթացներ են ծավալվում Հայաստան-Իրան երկաթուղու շինարարության նախագծի հետ կապված: Նախագիծն իրականում խիստ մեծ կարևորություն ունի մեր երկրի տնտեսության համար, քանի որ դրա շնորհիվ մի կողմից էապես կմեծանա երկու երկրների միջև ապրանքաշրջանառությունը, մյուս կողմից էլ Հայաստանը հնարավորություն կունենա դառնալ տարանցիկ երկիր իրանական ապանքների համար:
Դեռևս 2009թ.-ին ստեղծվել է «Երկաթուղու շինարարության տնօրինություն» ՓԲԸ-ն, որի հիմնական գործառույթը Հայաստան-Իրան երկաթուղու շինարարության նախագծի իրականացումն է: Երկաթուղու շինարարությամբ հետաքրքրված է ինչպես Իրանը, այնպես էլ Չինաստանը, որն երկաթուղու կառուցումը դիտում է որպես Մետաքսի ճանապարհի կարևորագույն բաղադրիչ:
2016թ,-ին Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետությունում երկաթուղու կառուցման նախագծի վերաբերյալ երկկողմ քննարկւմներ են տեղի ունեցել, իսկ մոտ ժամանակներս էլ սպասվում է իրանցի մասնագետների այցը Հայաստանի Հանրապետություն` Հայաստան-Իրան երկաթուղու շինարարության ծրագրի ընթացքի, դրա տեխնիկական իրականացման վերլուծության համար անհրաժեշտ մանրամասն տեղեկատվության ստացման, կարծիքների փոխանակման և հետագա համագործակցությանն առնչվող հարցերի քննարկման նպատակով:
Փաստացի ստացվում է, որ «Երկաթուղու շինարարության տնօրինություն» ՓԲԸ-ի գործունեությունը ակտիվանալու է, ինչը հավելյալ ծախսեր է պահանջում: Այդ ծախսերը ֆինանսավորելու նպատակով Կառավարությունը որոշում է կայացրել մոտ 6,3 մլն դրամի վերաբաշխում կատարել 2016թ,-ի պետական բյուջեում:
Կառավարությունը նպատակահարմար է համարել ՀՀ տրանսպորտային տեսչության տարածքային ստորաբաժանումների համար 2016թ տարածքներ վարձակալել ոչ թե բոլոր մարզկենտրոններում, այլ միայն դրանցից 5-ում, իսկ մյուս մարզկենտրոններում 2016թ.-ին նախատեսվող տարածքների վարձակալումը հետաձգել և դրա արդյունքում տնտեսված գումարն ուղղել «Երկաթուղու շինարարության տնօրինություն» ՓԲԸ-ին՝ որպես սուբսիդիա:
