Մեծ Բրիտանիայում մի քանի շաբաթ առաջ այս ընտանիքի կյանքը գլխիվայր շուռ եկավ: Ընտանիքի ամենակրտսեր անդամի՝ 16 ամսական Փոփի Մայիի մոտ գլխուղեղի ուռուցք էր հայտնաբերվել: Բժիշկները երեխային շատ կարճ կյանք էին տվել:

Փոքրիկի հայրիկը՝ Անդի Բերնարդը, երեխայի ծննդյան օրից դստերը խոստացել էր, որ երբ մեծանա, կկազմակերպի նրա երազանքների հարսանիքը: Բայց ցավոք, Մայիի հազվադեպ եւ ծանր հիվանդության պատճառով դա անհնար էր:

Սակայն հուսահատ հայրիկը չի ընկրկել եւ որոշել է կատարել իր խոստումը: Ընտանիքը «հարսանիք» է կազմակերպել եւ «ամուսնացրել» երեխային: Փոքրիկ «հարսնացուին» ուղեկցել են նրա մայրիկն ու ավագ եղբայրները:

«Ես երբեք չէի մտածի, որ այսպես կլինի: Մենք մեկընդմիշտ հուսահատված ենք: Ես ցանկացա կատարել իմ խոստումը, որը տվել էի իմ արքայադստերը: Իհարկե, այնպես չէր, ինչպես ես էի պատկերացնում, բայց նա ներկա եղավ իր հասանիքին»,- նշել է հայրիկը, որն այս արարողությունը կազմակերպել է դստեր մահվանից երկու օր առաջ:
