ՀՀ Նախագահը Մասաչուսեթս նահանգում այցելել է Հին հյուսիսային եկեղեցի և «Հայկական ժառանգության պուրակ»

Աշխատանքային այցով Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգներում գտնվող ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը Մասաչուսեթս նահանգում շարունակում է հանդիպումներ ունենալ այս նահանգում զգալի դերակատարություն և կշիռ ունեցող տեղի հայկական կառույցների, համայնքային գործիչների, ինչպես նաև իրենց հայանպաստ գործունեությսմբ աչքի ընկած նահանգային իշխանությունների ներկայացուցիչների ու հայ ժողովրդի այլ բարեկամների հետ:
Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, ՀՀ Նախագահը մարտի 29-ին այցելել է Բոստոնի Հին հյուսիսային եկեղեցի: Եկեղեցու հոգևոր հովիվ Տ.Ստեֆան Այերսի և հայ հոգևորականների մասնակցությամբ մատուցվել է Սուրբ պատարագ: Հենց այս եպիսկոպոսական եկեղեցին էր առաջինը, որ դեռևս 18-րդ դարում ԱՄՆ ներգաղթող հայերին հնարավորություն է տվել Պատարագ մատուցել իր պատերից ներս: Բոստոնի հյուսիսային մասում 1723թ. կառուցված եկեղեցին համարվում է քաղաքի ամենահին եկեղեցական շենքը: ՀՀ Նախագահի այցը Ամերիկյան հեղափոխության վրա նշանակալից ազդեցությունն ունեցած հռչակավոր Հին հյուսիսային եկեղեցի նպատակ ունի հարգանքի տուրք մատուցել ԱՄՆ-ի անկախության խորհրդանիշներից մեկին և գնահատել հայերի նկատմամբ այս եկեղեցու և, առհասարակ, անգլիկան եկեղեցու բարյացկամ վերաբերմունքը:
Սերժ Սարգսյանն այնուհետև այցելել է «Հայկական ժառանգության պուրակ», որը հիմնվել է ի հիշատակ Հայոց ցեղասպանության և դրան հետևած այլ ցեղասպանությունների զոհերի, ինչպես նաև ի փառաբանումն Մասաչուսեթսում և Բոստոնում ապաստանած ամերիկահայերի և այլ ներգաղթյալ համայնքների մեծ ներդրման: Հանրապետության Նախագահը պուրակի հիմնման գործում մեծ դերակատարություն ունեցած Մասաչուսեթսի նախկին նահանգապետ Պատրիկ Դևալի, Բոստոնի քաղաքապետարանի ներկայացուցիչների, Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-ամյակի միջոցառումները համակարգող Մասաչուսեթսի կոմիտեի հաանախագահ Ջեյմս Գալուստյանի, պուրակի կառուցումն իրականացրած «Հայոց ժառանգություն» հիմնադրամի գործադիր կոմիտեի անդամ, Միդլսեքս շրջանի շերիֆ Փիթր Քութուջյանի, հիմնադրամի այլ անդամների և հայ համայնքի ներկայացուցիչների հետ շրջայց է կատարել քաղաքային զբոսայգում, որտեղ գտնվում է «Հայկական ժառանգության պուրակը», այցելել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության հուշահամալիր` ծաղկեպսակ դրել և հարգանքի տուրք մատուցել Ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակին: Շրջայցի ավարտին ՀՀ Նախագահը նաև հարգանքի տուրք է մատուցել Հոլոքոստի հուշարձանի մոտ:
