Կիպրոսում եգիպտական ինքնաթիռի առեւանգման պատմության բարեհաջող վախճանը հնարավոր Է դարձել առաջին հերթին հանրանավի անձնակազմի եւ, մասնավորապես, ինքնաթիռի ավագ ուղեկցորդուհի Յասին Սաբալի գրագետ գործողությունների շնորհիվ: Նա բանակցություններ Է վարել EgyptAir ավիաընկերության A320 հանրանավն առեւանգողի հետ, հանրանավ, որն զավթվել Էր մարտի 29-ի առավոտյան եւ վայրԷջք կատարել Լառնակայում (Կիպրոս): Այս մասին Կահիրեի օդանավակայանում պատմել են ուղեւորները Կիպրոսից վերադառնալուց հետո:
