 Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում ասորական համայնքի համար կան բոլոր հնարավորությունները՝ ազգի ինքնությունը պահպանելու և զարգացնելու համար: «Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում այս մասին ասաց Արարատի մարզի՝ հիմնականում ասորաբնակ Վերին Դվին համայնքի ղեկավար Լյուդմիլա Պետրովան: «Ասորի ազգը, չունենալով պետություն և պետականություն՝ Քրիստոսից 600 տարի առաջ, ինչպես նաև՝ լինելով ամենահին ազգերից մեկը, որը հասակակից է շումերներին և աքքադներին, այսօր Հայաստանում պահպանել է իր լեզուն, գիրը, գրականությունը, ավանդույթներն ու սովորույթները: Ունենք 200 տարեկան եկեղեցի, որտեղ բոլոր արարողությունները կատարվում են ասորական ավանդույթներով: Դպրոցում դասավանդվում է ասորական լեզուն, գիրն ու գրականությունը:Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում կան բոլոր պայմանները ազգի ինքնությունը պահպանելու, զարգանալու և ստեղծագործելու համար»,- նշեց Պետրովան:

Նա շնորհակալություն հայտնեց ՀՀ Նախագահին, կառավարությանը և ողջ հայ ժողովրդին եղբայրական և ջերմ վերաբերմունքի համար: «Իհարկե, 200 տարի ապրելով Հայաստանում, մենք արարել ենք մեր հայրենիքը, դարձել Հայաստանի Հանրապետության լիիրավ անդամը՝ մեր իրավունքներով և պարտականություններով: Հպարտորեն պետք է նշեմ, որ այսօր Վերին Դվինից 36 տղաներ ծառայում են Հայաստանի Զինված ուժերում, ծառայում են գերազանց և լավ, ինչի վառ ապացույցն են բազմաթիվ շնորհակալական նամակները, որ ստանում է գյուղապետարանը»,- հավելեց Վերին Դվին համայնքի ղեկավարը:

Նա հավելեց, որ այս պահին Հայաստանում ապրում է շուրջ 6 հազար ասորի: «Ինտեգրումը շատ սահուն է ընթանում: Մենք հայ ժողովրդի հետ կապված ենք և խնամիական կապերով, և ավանդույթներով, եղել ենք պատմական հարևաններ: Մենք հայերին համարում ենք եղբայրական ժողովուրդ»,- եզրափակեց Լյումիլա Պետրովան:
