Չեխ գիտնականները մի շարք հետազոտություններ են կատարել ու եզրակացրել, որ շագանակագույն աչքերով մարդիկ առաջին հայացքից կարող են ավելի մեծ վստահություն ներշնչել:
Հետազոտողները կամավորներին համակարգիչների էկրաններին ցուցադրել են կանանց և տղամարդկանց դեմքեր և խնդրել գնահատել, թե որքանով է դեմքերից յուրաքանչյուրը վստահություն ներշնչում: Պարզվել է, որ ավելի մեծ ու կլորավուն դիմագծերով տղամարդկանց դեմքերն ամենից հաճախ են վստահություն ներշնչել: Կանանց դեմքերի դեպքում դա կարևոր չի եղել: Վստահություն ներշնչող դեմքերի ավելի քան 60%-ն ունեցել է շագանակագույն աչքեր:
