Ղարաբաղա-ադրբեջանական սահմանին վերջին օրերի զարգացումները եւս մեկ անգամ ապացուցել են հանրահայտ ճշմարտությունը՝ «անհնար է պարտության մատնել մի ազգի, որը չի ցանկանում պարտվել»: Ազգային ժողովում հայտարարությունների ժամին այս մասին ասաց ԱԺ փոխնախագահ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը: «Հայ ժողովուրդն այս օրերին եւս մեկ անգամ ապացու ցեց, որ ինքն է եղել կա եւ շարունակելու է մնալ իր ճակատագրի միակ դարբինը: Ես ճշմարտություններ գիտեմ, որոնցից մեկն ասում է՝ «ուզում ես գուշակել, տեսնել ազգիդ ապագան, նայիր նրա երիտասարդությանը»: Նայելով քեզ, հայ երիտասարդություն, ես վարդագույն լավատեսությամբ եմ լցվում: Դու քո հայրենիքի հերոսական պաշտպանությամբ ապացուցեցիր, որ այսօր դու ավելի լուսավոր ես, քան երեկ եւ վաղն ավելի լուսավոր ես լինելու, քան այսօր: Ժողովուրդների պատմությունը ոչ այլ ինչ է, քան իրենց գոյամարտի պատմություն: Չեզոքության են դիմում միայն թույլերը՝ հաճախ բաժանելով պարտվածների ճակատագիրը»,- նշեց Շարմազանովը:

Նրա խոսքով՝ դժբախտաբար, պատերազմն ունեցել է եւ ունի իր պաշտպանները: «Եվ այդ պաշտպանները, ինչպես նաեւ Թուրքիայի եւ Ադրբեջանի ղեկավարությունը, պատրաստ են արդարացում գտնել անգամ իրենց ստահակ քայլերին, ինչպես ձեռքերը լվանալով դա ժամանակին արեց Պիղատոսը: Այսօր ե՛ւ «ձեռքերը լվանալը», ե՛ւ Ադրբեջանին սատարելը հավասարաչափ հակամարդկային են: Հարգելի հայրենակիցներ, 20 երկար ու ձիգ դարեր են անցել Գողգոթայից մինչեւ մեր օրերը, եւ, ավաղ, խաղաղության խոսքը մեր որոշ հարեւանների համար շարունակում է մնալ ձայն բարբառոյ յանապատի: Եվ այս պայմաններ ում մեզ մնում է առաջնորդվել հայտնի սկզբունքով՝ «խաղաղություն ես ուզում, պատրաստ եղիր կռվի»: Մեր հերոս տղաների քաջագործություններն ապացուցեցին, որ հայրենասիրությամբ հարուստ ժողովուրդը դեպքերի խաղալիք չէ, այլ նրանց հրամայողը: Մենք ապացուցեցինք, որ բարոյական ուժն է, նախ եւ առաջ, գոտեպնդում մեզ դեպի նոր հաջողություններ, քանի որ գիտակցում ենք, որ հայրենասիրությունն է մարդկային առաքելությունների թագն ու պսակը: Խոսքս ուզում եմ ավարտել հանճարեղ Նժդեհի խոսքերով. «Պիտի ապրի հայ ժողովուրդը, պիտի ապրի, որովհետեւ այդպես է ուզում ինքը» ,- եզրափակեց Շարմազանովը:
