Բժիշկները նշել են առողջության համար այն հետեւանքները, որոնք կարող են վրա հասնել ամուսնու կորստից հետո եւ առանձնապես վտանգավոր են 60 տարին բոլորած մարդկանց համար: Հեղինակների հետազոտությունը հրապարակվել Է Open Heart հանդեսում:
Գիտնականների կարծիքով՝ ամուսնու կորուստը կապված Է նախասրտերի թելիկախաղերի (սրտի կծկումների սխալ մեխանիզմ) զարգացման հնարավորության հետ: Ամուսնու կորուստն արդեն առաջին ամսում միջին հաշվով 57 տոկոսով մեծացնում Է այդ հիվանդության զարգացման ռիսկը (նախկինում առողջների մոտ):
Ամուսինների մոտ սրտխփոցների առավել բարձր հաճախություն նկատվել Է ամուսնու կամ կնոջ կորստից հետո առաջին երկու շաբաթվա ընթացքում, այնուհետեւ, որպես կանոն, այն թուլացել Է ընդհուպ մինչեւ ֆիզիլոգիապես ընդունելի ցուցանիշներ: Գիտնականները խուսափում են հաճախացած սրտխփոցի առաջացման ռիսկի եւ ամուսիններից մեկի մահվան միջեւ պատճառահետեւանքային կապեր նշելուց, սակայն չեն բացառում, որ երկրորդն ազդում Է առաջինի վրա, մասնավորապես, սթրեսի պատճառով:
Գիտնականներն իրենց եզրակացություններին հանգել են՝ վերլուծելով թրթռական առիթմիա ունեցող 88 հազար 612 մարդկանց եւ 886 հազար 120 առողջ մարդկանց տվյալները: Մասնակիցներն ընտրվել են ըստ սեռի, տարիքի, հիվանդությունների եւ 1995-ից մինչեւ 2014 թվականն ընկած ժամանակամիջոցում մերձավորների կորստի:
