Գերմանիան մեծապես կարևորում է Մինսկի խմբի դերակատարությունը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորման հարցում:Այս մասին ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի հետ հանդիպումից հետո լրագրողների ներկայութ յամբ հայտարարել է Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը:

«Այսօր մենք քննարկել ենք իրադրությունը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում: Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն արտահայտել է իր դիրքորոշումն այս հարցում: Պետք է նշեմ, որ Մինսկի խումբը կարևոր դեր ունի հակամարտության կարգավորման գործում: Մենք փորձում ենք ինչպես Մինսկի խմբի, այնպես էլ ԵԱՀԿ-ի հետ աշխատել իրադրության կայունացման և հրադադարի պահպանման հարցով: Կցանկանայինք, որ երկու կողմերն էլ շարունակեն բանակցել խնդրի կարգավորման նպատակով: Մինչ օրս փոքր առաջընթաց է գրանցվել: Իհարկե, հակամարտությունների կարգավորումը բխում է բոլորի շահերից: Հատկապես այնպիսի ե րկրի համար, ինչպիսին է Հայաստանը` հաշվի առնելով նրա աշխարհագրական դիրքը: Եթե իրադրությունը հանդարտվի, ամեն բան կարող է բարելավվել Հայաստանի համար»,- նշել է կանցլերը:

Գերմանիայի ղեկավարը հայտնել է, որ Սերժ Սարգսյանի հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ նա ՀՀ Նախագահին ասել է, որ Հայաստան-ԵՄ հարաբերությունները պետք է բարելավվեն: «Կողմերի միջև ամուր հարաբերություններ ունենալը լավ գաղափար է: Իհարկե, մենք շատ հետաքրքրված ենք Հայաստանում ընթացող քաղաքական բարեփոխումների հարցով: Դա շատ կարևոր է քաղաքականության թափանցիկության հարցում, դա քայլ է ճիշտ ուղղությամբ»,-ասել է Մերկելը:

Կանցլերը տեղեկացրել է նաև, որ հանդիպմանը քննարկվել է հայ-թուրքական հարաբերությունների հարցը և մասնավորապես երկու երկրների միջև շփումներն ակտիվացնելու հնարավորությունը: «Մենք ցանկանում ենք Հայաստանի համար ուժեղ գործընկեր լինել` հնարավորինս աջակցելով նրան»,-եզրափակել է Գերմանիայի առաջնորդը:
