Ժամանակին հայ հայտնիները սեքս սիմվոլ լինելու ցանկություն չունեին, քանի որ հասարակությունը հաճախ մերժողական էր տրամադրվում սեքսուալ հայրենակցուհիների նկատմամբ: Շոու բիզնեսում առավել ընդունելի էր համեստ, «տան աղջկա» կերպարը: Այժմ այդ կարծրատիպը որոշակիորեն կոտրվել է: Շատ հայտնիներ չեն թաքցնում իրենց սեքսուալությունը, երբեմն էլ մերկանում են:

Երգչուհի Լիլիթ Հովհաննիսյանն ամուսնությունից հետո էլ չդադարեց ներկայանալ որպես սեքսուալ, ցանկալի երգչուհի: Երգչուհին իր տեսահոլովակներում, ֆոտոշարքերում միշտ ներկայանում է բաց հագուստով, սակայն Լիլիթի սեքսուալությունը դրանով չէ պայմանավորված:
