Լեռնային Ղարբաղի Հանրապետությունը պահպանում է անկախանալու իր ձգտումը՝ համարելով, որ դա Ադրբեջանին զսպելու լավագույն մեխանիզմն է: Այս մասին իսպանական EFE-ին տված հարցազրույցում նշել է ԼՂԳ ԱԳ նախարար Կարեն Միրզոյանը:
«Մեր անկախության միջազգային ճանաչումը Ադրբեջանին զսպելու լավագույն մեխանիզմն է»- ասել է Միրզոյանը:
Նա բացառել է անկախության հարցով նոր հանրաքվեի նշանակումը՝ հիշեցնելով, որ ԼՂՀ-ն արդեն անցկացրել է անկախության հանրաքվե, որտեղ «քաղաքացիների ճնշող մեծամասնությունը կողմ է արտահայտվել անկախությանը»:
Միրզոյանը անհնարին է համարել Ղարաբաղի վերադարձն Ադրբեջանի կազմ, որին մեղադրում է անցյալ շաբաթ ռազմական գործողություններ սկսելու մեջ, որոնք հանգեցրեցին 1994թ.-ի հրադադարի ուժի մեջ մտնելուց հետո տեղի ունեցած ամենադաժան մարտերին:
«Մեր պահանջներն իրատեսական են, ուղղված են ոչ միայն մեր ժողովրդի, այլ նաեւ միջազգային հանրության շահերին, եւ դրանք կայունության երաշխիք են»,- ասել է Միրզոյանը՝ հավելելով, որ ԼՂՀ-ն պետք է վերականգնի բանակցությունների լիիրավ կողմի իր կարգավիճակը:
Ինչ վերաբերում է զինադադարին, Միրզոյանը նշել է, որ իրավիճակը «հարաբերականորեն հանգիստ է», չնայած ադրբեջանական կողմը շարունակում է խախտումներ իրականացնել: «Մենք խստորեն հարգում ենք զինադադարը: Հիմա պետք է վերականգնել 1994թ.-ին հաստատված հրադադարի ռեժիմը»,-ընդգծել է նա՝ հավելելով, որ դրա համար ադրբեջանական զորքերը պետք է վերադառնան իրենց դիրքեր, իսկ Բաքուն պետք է սահմանից հեռացնի այն ծանր հրետանին, որը տեղափոխել է սահման եւ ակտիվորեն կիրառվել է վերջին օրերին:
Միրզոյանը նշել է, որ խորհրդային իշխանության 70 տարվա ընթացքում, որի ժամանակ Արցախը Ադրբեջանի ԽՍՀ մաս է կազմել, պարբերաբար եւ համակարգային ձեւով ենթարկվել է խտրականությունների, որոնք միտված են եղել արհեստականորեն կանգնեցնելու նրա սոցիալական, տնտեսական եւ դեմոգրաֆիական զարգացումը:
Որպես հետեւանք, 1988թ.-ին Ղարաբաղի հայերը պահանջել են իրենց միացումը Հայաստանին՝ փորձելով իրականացնել իրենց ինքնորոշման իրավունքը եւ հարգելով բոլոր իրավանորմերը եւ ազգային ազատության արտահայտման ժողովրդավարական ձեւերը:
Միրզոյանի խոսքով, Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը, ադրբեջանական լծից ազատվելուց հետո, վերածվել է մի պետության, որն ունի բոլոր անհրաժեշտ ատրիբուտները, ներառյալ Սահմանադրություն, որի համաձայն այն ժողովրդավարական պետություն է:
