Մեկնաբանելով, թե ինչ վտանգներ կարող է պարունակել սահմանադրական բարեփոխումների նախագիծը կամ դրա առանձին դրույթները՝ «Ժողովրդավարական հայրենիք» կուսակցության նախագահ Պետրոս Մակեյանը Past.am-ի հետ զրույցում ասաց, որ ամիսներ առաջ, երբ բովանդակային նյութը հրապարակված չէր, կուսակցության քաղխորհրդում որոշում էր ընդունվել չմասնակցել բովանդակային քննարկումներին:

«Մեր կարծիքով՝ այդ նախագիծն առհասարակ մտահոգիչ է, որովհետև Հայաստանում սահմանադրության, օրենքների որակի խնդիր չկա, կա օրենքների գործելու խնդիր: Հայաստանում թիվ մեկ խնդիրն ընտրական համակարգի գոյություն չունենալն է: Իմաստ չունի քննարկել՝ նոր սահմանադրությունը լա՞վն է, վա՞տն է, վտանգավո՞ր է»,- ասաց Մակեյանը:

Հարցին՝ ինչ պայքար պետք է ծավալեն նրանք, ովքեր դեմ են նախագծին, վերջինս պատասխանեց, որ իշխանությունն արտաքին աշխարհին կարող է ցույց տալ, թե ինչ բուռն քննարկումներ են ընթանում, որպեսզի լիարժեք ներկայացնի այս «թատրոնը»:

«Իսկ ընդդիմությունն այսօր բազմաշերտ է: Կա իշխանության ձեռքի ընդդիմություն: Իրական ընդդիմությունը պետք է հասարակությանը բացատրի՝ թե ինչ նպատակ է հետապնդում այս սահմանադրությունը: Հիմնական նպատակն այն է, որ Սերժ Սարգսյանը լուծում է անձնական խնդիր՝ իշխանական բուրգի գագաթում մնալու խնդիր: Խնդրի բարդությունն այն է, որ մեր հասարակությունը թիվ մեկ խնդիրը տեսնում է իշխանությունից ազատվելու մեջ, իսկ մնացած խնդիրները հաշվում է երկրորդական:

Ընդդիմության խնդիրն է ցույց տալ, որ սահմանադրական բարեփոխումները կանխելով՝ կանխվում է վարչախմբի գոյատևումը»,-ասաց «Ժողովրդավարական հայրենիք» կուսակցության նախագահը:
