Լայնամասշտաբ ռազմական սադրանքը նախաձեռնելիս Ադրբեջանը հույս ուներ հաշված ժամերի ընթացքում գրավել ողջ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը կամ ռազմավարական նոր դիրքեր,  որպեսզի ճնշում գործադրեր հայկական կողմի վրա: Պետք է արձանագրել, որ ադրբեջանական հրոսակների դեմ պաշտպանական մարտեր էր մղում Ղարաբաղի ՊԲ-ն. ՀՀ զինված ուժերը ներգրավված չեն եղել: «Հայկական կողմի խնդիրն, ըստ իս,նվազագույն կորուստներ տալով մեր ունեցած դի րքերը պահպանելն էրե,- լրագրողների հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ նշեց ԱԺ ՀՀԿ խմբակցության անդամ Խոսրով Հարությունյանը:

 Պատգամավորի խոսքով՝ Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը որոշեց ժամանակավորապես դադարեցնել ռազմական գործողությունները՝ կրած մեծ կորուստների պատճառով: «Հրադադարը, սակայն, տևական չի լինի, քանի որ Ալիևը ամեն գնով փորձելու է փրկել իր քաղաքական դեմքը ինչպես իր հանրության, այնպես էլ միջազգային տարբեր շրջանակներումե,- «Արմենպրես-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ հավելեց Հարությունյանը: Հարկավոր է թույլ չտալ, որ այս հակամարտությունները վերաճեն լայնամասշտաբ ռազմական գործողությունների՝ ներգրավելով ողջ տարածաշրջանը: ԱԺ պատգամավորի խոսքով՝ պետք է նաև ստիպել Ադրբեջանին նստել բանակցային սեղանի շուրջ:

Նա ընգծեց այն փաստը, որ Հայաստանը մեծ հաշվով դատապարտված է միայնակ դիմագրավելու բոլոր արտաքին սպառնալիքներին, իսկ ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահող երկրներից գոնե երկուսը՝ ԱՄՆ-ն ու Ռուսաստանը, ցանկության դեպքում, կարող են շատ արագ կարգավորել այս խնդիրը: Դրա համար նրանք ունեն և քաղաքական, և տնտեսական, և ռազմական ողջ ռեսուրսը: Այնուամենայնիվ, տարածաշրջանի մյուս երկրները չեն կարող մնալ դիտորդի կարգավիճակում:

Հարությունյանն ասաց, որ միջազգային հանրության և կազմակերպություների գրեթե բոլոր հայտարարություններն առ այսօր եղել են համաչափ կամ շատ ընդհանրացված, իսկ նման քայլերը աջակցում են ագրեսորին: Ուրեմն, նրանք Թուրքիայի ու Ադրբեջանի հետ միասին ստանձնում են իրադարձությունների հետագա զարգացումների ողջ պատասխանատվությունը: «Սա վերաբերում է նաև մեր ռազմավարական գործընկերներին: Մենք հասկանում ենք, որ մեծ քաղաքականությունը չի ճանաչում սենտիմենտ, բայց դա չի նշանակում, որ տվյալ երկրների քաղաքական շահերը պետք է իրականացվեն մեր անվտանգության ու անկախության հաշվինե,- հավելեց պատգամավորը:
