Ադրբեջանի կողմից ռազմական գործողությունների վերսկսումը ինձ համար անսպասելի չէր, որովհետև երբ որ մենք 1994 թվականի մայիսի 12-ին կնքեցինք հրադադարի պայմանագիրը, հակառակորդը սկսվել է պատրաստվել պատերազմի:

Արցախպրեսի հաղորդմամաբ` այս մասին Արցախի հանրային հեռուստաընկերությանը հետ հարցազրույցում ասել է ԼՂՀ ԱԺ պատգամավոր,  գեներալ Վիտալի Բալասանյանը, որտեղ հետաքրքիր հայտարարություններ է արել:

«Մենք կարողացանք ժամանակին տալ պատասխան, մեր կրակը վարում էինք շատ ճիշտ, ընդհուպ մեկ սնարյադ հենց այնպես չենք կրակել, որովհետեւ ժամանակին մեր հրետանավորները եւ մնացած մնասնագետները, չեք պատկերացնի, թե ինչքան աշխատանք են կատարել, ամեն մի մետրի տեղը գիտեն: Այնպես չի, որ մենակ Ադրբեջանն ունի անօդաչու սարքեր, Ղարաբաղի  պաշտպանության բանակն էլ ունի անօդաչու սարքեր, մենք դրանք էլ ենք ժամանակին թռցնում եւ մարդիկ կոորդինատները, ամեն ինչը տեսնում են»,- ասել է Արցախի հերոսը:

Վիտալի Բալասանյանը նաեւ նշել է. «Իրենք շատ գրագետ մարտ են վարել, եւ ռազմավարական եւ մարտավարական իմաստով: Օպերացիաները ձախողվել է միանշանակ, բայց դա չի նշանակում, թե նրանք անգրագետ էին… համոզված եմ, որ շատ լուրջ պարապած էին: Թույլ չեն, չի կարելի թերագնահատել Ադրբեջանին: Մեր խնդիրը մեր շատ կարճ ժամանակահատվածում մոբիլիզացիան է, վերադասավորումը, մեր մոբիլ տեղաշարժը՝ զբաղեցնելով մեր դիրքերը:

Հակառակորդը պատկերացրել է, թե հրթիռահրետակոծությունից հետո մենք չէինք կարողանալու մեր դիրքերը զբաղեցնել, որովհետեւ ռազմաճակատի ամբողջ երկայնքով բոլոր ճանապարհները գտնվում էին հրետակոծության տակ՝ ընդհուպ երրորդ, չորրոդ ճանապարհները: Այսինքն, այնպես չէ, որ անգրագետ մարտ են վարել սրանք, ընդհուպ այն ճանապարհները, որ մենք պետք է մոտենայինք, գրավեինք մեր դիրքերը, բոլորը եղել են այդ բանի տակ: Նամանավանդ իրենց համար դա շատ հեշտ է եղել, որովհետեւ իրենք ունեն անօդաչու սարքեր, դրանց համար տարբերություն չկա, ցերեկը թռնել, թե գիշերը, այսինքն շատ հեշտ է օդից նայել եւ մարտը վարել, շատ գրագետ մարտ են վարել:

Հիմա հարց՝ ինչո՞ւ չեն կարողացել: Դա պետք է հարցնենք փոքրիկ Ալիեւին, Գլխավոր շտաբին, ՊՆ-ին եւ այն հրամանատարներին, որոնք այսօր ծառայում են Ադրբեջանի բանակում: Ես համոզված եմ, որ թվով շատ քիչ մարդիկ են գրագետ: Զորքի ստորին օղակը միշտ գտնվում է ճնշված վիճակում: Տեսնում ենք, թե դիրքերում ինչ է կատարվում` սոված, ծարավ, անտեր: Մենք ե´ւ օդից ենք տեսնում ե´ւ դիրքերից դիրքեր»: Գեներալը հաստատել է նաեւ, որ հայկական կողմից տեսել են, թե ինչպես են ադրբեջանցիները կրակում փախչող զինվորների վրա եւ նրանք չեն կարողանում նահանջել: «Մենք տեսնում էինք, որ նրանց թիկունքը փակ է, մենք լսում էինք այդ կրակոցները եւ տեսնում ենք, որ նրանց հրետանին չի թողնում, որ հետ գնան»,- ասում է Վիտալի Բալասանյանը:
