Ադրբեջանի ագրեսիվ քաղաքականությունն ընդդեմ Արցախի ֆիասկո ապրեց նախ և առաջ շնորհիվ պաշտպանության բանակի քաջ զինվորների: Լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նման կարծիք հայտնեց ԱԺ փոխնախագահ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը:
«Ես ցանկանում եմ ևս մեկ անգամ շնորհակալություն հայտնել մեր հերոսներին, բոլորին`թե' զոհված, թե' կենդանի և նրանց ծնողներին»,- «Արմենպրես» -ի փոխանցմամբ`նշեց նա:
Շարմազանվը հավելեց, որ Արցախի անկախությունն այլընտրանք չունի. Արցախի ժողովուրդն ինքը պետք էլինի իր ճակատագրի դարբինը: «Եվ պատահական չէ, որ Երևանում Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահները նշեցին, որ կարգավիճակի հարցն ամենաառանցքայինն է, և որ վճռական ու որոշիչ փուլում Արցախը դառնալու է բանակցությունների լիարժեք կողմ: Ուզի-չուզի Ադրբեջանը, Թուրքիային դա դուր կգա ՞, թե ոչ, համանախագահների մակարդակով հնչեցվել է այս կարծիքը, ինչի մասին մշտապես խոսել են թե' Արցախի, թե' Հայաստանի իշխանությունները: Արցախը դառնալու է բանակցությունների լիարժեք կողÕ ´»,-նշեց Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը:
Շարմազանովն ասաց, որ Հայաստանը` որպես Արցախի անվտանգության երաշխավոր, պետք է քայլեր ձեռնարկի Արցախի Հանրապետության և Արցախի բնակչության անվտանգությունն ապահովելու համար:
Նրա խոսքով`այդ անվտանգությունը միայն ռազմական գործոնի մեջ չէ, այլ նաև քաղաքական:
