Այս պահին հանձնված 18 հայ զինծառայողների մարմինների հետ կապված Քննչական կոմիտեի կողմից համապատասխան դատաբաժշկական փորձաքննություններ են իրականացվում: Այս մասին լրագրողների հետ զրույցում ասաց ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի ավագ օգնական Ալիկ Ավետիսյանը՝ նշելով, որ փորձաքննությամբ կպարզի, թե զինծառայողների մահը վրա է հասել խոշտանգումների հետևանքով, թե խոշտանգումները կատարվել են մահից հետո:
«Բայց չի բացառվում, որ զինծառայողը մահացած չի եղել և հետագայում մահը վրա է հասել խոշտանգումների հետևանքով, ինչը կհայտնաբերվի քննության արդյունքում»,- ասաց նա։ «Մեզ համար առաջնային խնդիր է դառնում պարզել, թե ինչ իրավական մեխանիզմների շնորհիվ պետք է մենք համապատասխան քայլեր ձեռնարկենք քրեական գործեր հարուցելու համար: Մեր Քրեական օրենսգիրքը նախատեսում է դա, բայց, ինչ վերաբերում է միջազգային իրավական նորմերին, ասեմ, որ մարդասիրական իրավունքն իր բնույթով մի փոքր ավելի ընդհանրացված է անդրադարձ կատարում կոնկրետ դիակների նկատմամբ անարգանքի վերաբերմունքին»,- ընդգծեց Ավետիսյանը՝ տեղեկացնելով, որ Ադրբեջանը չի վավերացրել Ժնևյան կոնվենցիայի առաջին արձանագրությունը, որը համեմատաբար հանգամանալից անդրադարձ է կատարում նման երևույթներին:
