Հռոմի Սուրբ Աթոռի պատվիրակությունը այցելել է Հայաստան և ուսումնասիրել Սրբազան Քահանայապետի այցելության կազմակերպման հնարավորությունները, եղել նաև Գյումրիում, ուսումնասիրել Սրբոց Նահատակաց հայ կաթողիկե առաջնորդանիստ եկեղեցին և այլ տարածքներ Գյումրիում: Մոտ օրերս կհրապարակվեն մ անրամասներ Քահանայապետի այցելության ծրագրի մասին: Այս մասին տեղեկացնում է Հայաստանի, Վրաստանի,  Ռուսաստանի և Արևելյան Եվրոպայի Հայ կաթողիկե առաջնորդարանի պաշտոնական կայքը:

«Քրիստոնեական Կաթողիկե կամ Տիեզերական Եկեղեցու առաջին գլուխ Ֆրանցիսկոս Սրբազան Քահանայապետի այցը Հայաստան կլինի պատմական իրադարձություն: Այն կլինի  Հռոմի Պապի երկրորդ այցելությունը Հայաստան՝ 2001թ. հետո: 2001թ. Հայաստան այցելեց Սբ. Հովհաննես Պողոս Բ Քահանայապետը՝ Հայաստանում քրիստոնեության որպես պետական կրոն հռչակման 1700-ամյակի առթիվ: Հայ կաթողիկե համայնքի և առհասարակ հայ հասարակության լայն շրջանակների համար Ֆրանցիսկոս Սրբազան Պապի այցը շատ սպասված է: Ֆրանցիսկոս Պապը, ինչպես և նրա նախորդները, հոգևոր և բարոյական մեծ հեղինակություն ունի ամբողջ աշխարհում՝ քրիստոնեական արմատական արժեքների քարոզության« մարդու իրավունքների, սոցիալական արդարության« աղքատների ու ճնշվածների իրավունքների անվախ պաշտպանության, սոցիալական ու տնտեսական արատավոր երևույթների, պատերազմների ու բռնությունների դատապարտման ուղղությամբ իր ջանքերի համար: Աշխարհի բոլոր անկյուններում, որտեղ կան պատերազմական գործություններ և սոցիալական անարդարության դրսևորումներ« մեծ հույսեր են կապում Ֆրանցիսկոս Սրբազան Պապի այցելությունների և անվախ ելույթների հետ»,-նշում է կայքը:

2015թ. ապրիլի 12-ին Հռոմի Սուրբ Պետրոսի տաճարում Նորին Սրբությունը ի լուր ամբողջ աշխարհի խոսեց Հայոց Ցեղասպանության պատմական փաստի մասին, դատապարտեց Թուրքիայի մերժողական քաղաքականությունը և իր հայրական սերն ու համերաշխությունը հայտնեց ողջ հայ ժողովրդին:

«Քահանայապետի այցը Հայաստան և հնարավոր ելույթը կարող է լուրջ ազդեցություն ունենալ նաև Արցախում խաղաղության հաստատման գործում, մանավանդ, ի նկատի ունենալով նրա ծրագիրը՝ 2016թ. սեպտեմբերի 30-ից հոկտեմբերի 2-ին այցելելու նաև Վրաստան և Ադրբեջան,ինչպես հայտնել է Սուրբ Աթոռի մամլո գրասենյակը»,-հավելում է կայքը:

Ինչպես  օրեր առաջ  հայտնել է  Ռադիո Վատիկանը, Հռոմի Սուրբ Աթոռի մամլո գրասենյակը հայտարարել է« որ Կաթողիկե Եկեղեցու առաջնորդ Նորին Սրբություն Ֆրանցիսկոս Սրբազան Քահանայապետը 2016թ. հունիսի 24-26-ը կայցելի Հայաստան: Սրբազան Քահանայապետին Հայաստան են հրավիրել Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ Կաթողիկոսը, ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը և Հայաստանի Հայ Կաթողիկե Եկեղեցու առաջնորդ Արժանապատիվ Տ. Ռաֆայել արքեպիսկոպոս Մինասյանը:
