«Ժամանակ» թերթը գրում է. «Հրազդանի քաղաքապետի ընտրությունն, ըստ էության, դարձավ պատերազմից վերադարձը հայկական իրականություն՝ գրեթե բոլոր առումներով: Այն ցույց տվեց, թե ինչքան ամուր եւ անառիկ է մեր ճակատը, նույնքան մերկ, անպաշտպան եւ խոցելի է թիկունքը: Ցույց տվեց հերթական անգամ: Միաժամանակ ցույց տվեց նաեւ այն, թե ինչքան սնանկ են հայտարարությունները համախմբումների մասին, որով այս օրերին կերակրվում էր հանրությունը՝ լիուլի:

Մինչ հասարակությունը կերակրվում էր այդ ամենով, այդ հայտարարությունների ֆոնի տակ իշխանությունը պատրաստում եւ իրականացնում էր իր հերթական ակցիան, ընտրակեղծարարությունն ու վերարտադրությունը մեկ քաղաքի մակարդակում, կամ ՏԻՄ մակարդակում, որն, իհարկե, համապետական մակարդակի նախերգանքն է: Եվ այս իմաստով, օրինակ, Հրազդանի քաղաքապետի ընտրությունները հարց են առաջ բերում, թե ի՞նչ ճակատագիր է սպասում Լեւոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանի եւ Սերժ Սարգսյանի հանդիպմամբ ստեղծված նոր քաղաքական իրողությանը: Հրազդանում ՀՀԿ արածից հետո համախմբումը ուժի մե՞ջ է, թե՞ ոչ:

Այս հարցը հետաքրքրական է այն առումով, որ Սարգսյան-Տեր-Պետրոսյան հանդիպումն, ըստ էության, ստեղծեց նոր քաղաքական իրավիճակ Հայաստանում՝ փոխելով զարգացման վեկտորները, հեռանկարները: Սակայն սրա հետ միաժամանակ Հրազդանի ընտրությունը ցույց է տալիս, որ չի փոխվել ներքաղաքական բովանդակությունը, եւ հստակ է, որ իշխանության թիվ մեկ խնդիրը եղել եւ շարունակում է մնալ ոչ թե պետությունը ամեն գնով պաշտպանելը, այլ պետությունից պաշտպանվելն ու ամեն գնով վերարտադրվելը: Հետեւաբար՝ հարց է առաջանում, թե սա՞ պետք է ուժեղացնի Սերժ Սարգսյանին արցախյան բանակցություններում»:
