«Մամուլի ազատության ինդեքս-2016»-ի տվյալներով Հայաստանը 4 տեղով բարելավել է իր դիրքը, քանի որ եվրոպական մի շարք երկրներում մամուլի ազատության հետ կապված բացասական զարգացումներ կան: Ապրիլի 21-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նման կարծիք հայտնեց Երևանի մամուլի ակումբի նախագահ Բորիս Նավասարդյանը: «Օրինակ, Հունգարիայում շարունակվում են ճնշումները լրագրո ղների նկատմամբ: Այդ երկրում գնալով ավելի է մեծանում պետության վերահսկողությունը լրատվամիջոցների նկատմամբ: Նման զարգացումներ եղան նաև Լեհաստանում: Այդ երկրի հանրային հեռուստաընկերությունն օրենսդրական փոփոխությունների արդյունքում, այսպես ասած, դարձել է գործադիր իշխանության կամակատարը: Սրանք տագնապալի երևույթներ են, որովհետև շատ հաճախ արդարացնում են մեր երկրում տեղի ունեցող բացասական երևույթները»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ նշեց Նավասարդյանը:
Նա հավելեց, որ խոսքը միայն Հունգարիայի և Լեհաստանի մասին չէ: ԵՄ անդամ մի շարք երկրներում ևս բացասական զարգացումներ կան, ինչի արդյունքում էլ Հայաստանը «Մամուլի ազատության ինդեքս»-ում առաջ է անցել այդ երկրներից:
Բորիս Նավասարդյանը ներկայացրեց նաև Հայաստանում լրատվամիջոցների առջև ծառացած խնդիրները: Նրա խոսքով «Հեռուստատեսության և ռադիոյի մասին» ՀՀ օրենքում վերջերս կատարված փոփոխությունները կասկածի տակ են դրել մարզային հեռուստաալիքների գործունեությունը, քանի որ նրանք թվային լիցենզիա չեն ստանում և շարունակում են գործել անալոգային տարբերակով, իսկ դա կասկածի տակ է դնում այդ հեռուստաընկերությունների գործունեությունը:
Նա ընդգծեց, որ երկրորդ մարտահրավերը, որին հանդիպել են լրագրողները 2015թ., այն անձանց անպատժելիությունն է, որոնք խոչընդոտել են լրագրողների աշխատանքը՝ կիրառելով նաև բռնությունները: Նավասարդյանի խոսքով՝ նշված խնդիրները լուծելու ուղղությամբ այնքան էլ ակտիվ աշխատանքներ չեն տարվել, ուստի դրանք շարունակում են արդիական լինել:
