Վատիկանը կտրականապես դեմ է թմրանյութերի օրինականացմանը եւ ընտանիքը համարում է թմրամոլության կանխման, ինչպես նաեւ կախվածությունից մարդկանց բուժման ու վերականգնման ռազմավարության հանգուցային բաղադրիչը: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ապրիլի 21-ին հայտարարել է Հռոմի պապի՝ ՄԱԿ-ին առընթեր պատվիրակը՝ արքեպիսկոպոս Բեռնարդիտո Աուսան, ելույթ ունենալով Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի՝ թմրանյութերի համաշխարհային հիմնախնդրին նվիրված հատուկ նստաշրջանում:

«Սուրբ աթոռը վճռականորեն մերժում է անօրինական թմրամիջոցների օգտագործումը եւ թմրանյութերի լեգալացումը»,- ասել է արքեպիսկոպոսը: Նա հիշեցրել է, որ 2014 թվականին Հռոմում տեղի ունեցած 31-րդ միջազգային խորհրդաժողովում, որը նվիրված էր թմրանյութերի անօրինական շրջանառության դեմ պայքարի հարցերին, Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը նախազգուշացրեց, որ արգելված սուբստանցիաների օգտագործման արգելքի վերացմամբ չի հաջողվի կրճատել կախվածության մասշտաբները:

ՄԱԿ-ի կենտրոնակայանում ապրիլի 21-ին ավարտվել է Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի՝ թմրանյութերի համաշխարհային հիմնախնդրին նվիրված հատուկ նստաշրջանը: Երեք օր երկրները քննարկում էին այդ բնագավառում հանգուցային որոշումների՝ Քաղաքական հռչակագրի եւ 2009 թվականի Գործողությունների պլանի կատարումը, որոնք 10 տարի են հատկացրել թմրանյութերի անօրինական արտադրության եւ իրացման վերացմանը կամ զգալի կրճատմանը, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
