Լեոնարդո դի Կապրիոն ելույթ է ունեցել Նյու Յորքում ՄԱԿ-ի շտաբ բնակարանում: 41-ամյա դերասանը՝ որպես ՄԱԿ-ի խաղաղության դեսպան, ապրիլի 22-ին (երեկ նշվում էր Երկրի օրը) ելույթ է ունեցել ՄԱԿ-ի շտաբ բնակարանում կլիմայի վերաբերյալ Փարիզյան համաձայնագրի ստորագրման արարողության ժամանակ:
Իր ելույթում Լեոնարդոն աշխարհին կոչ էր անում հրաժարվել վառելիքի հանածո տեսակների արդյունահանումից:
«Մեր մոլորակը հնարավոր չի լինի փրկել, եթե հանածո վառելիքը չթողնենք ընդերքում, որտեղ էլ այն պետք է լինի: Մեր սերունդները մի օր հետ կնայեն անցյալին ու կհասկանան, որ այսօրվա սերունդը կարող էր կանգնեցնել երկրագնդի ոչնչացումը, բայց չի արել դա»,- ասել է Լեոն:
Կլիմայի վերաբերյալ փարիզյան համաձայնագիրը ստորագրել են 175 երկրներ: Փաստաթուղթը ամրագրել է 2020-ից հետո ջերմոցային գազերի արտանետումների ծավալները ու կլիմայական փոփոխությունների կանխմանն ուղղված միջոցառումները:
Համաձայնագիր չի ենթադրում, որ պետք է հրաժարվել հանածո վառելիքից, բայց այն նախատեսում է, որ անխտիր բոլոր երկրները պետք է ջանքեր կիրառեն արտանետումների նվազման, տեխնոլոգիական վերազինման, որ կլիմայական փոփոխություններին ադապտացվելու ուղղությամբ:
«Մենք կարող ենք շնորհավորել իրար, բայց սա անիմաստ կդառնա, եթե վերադառնալով մեր երկրներ, մենք չհետեւենք ան սկզբունքներին, որոնք ամրագրված են այս պատմական համաձայնագրում: Հիմա եկել է համարձակ ու վճռորոշ գործողությունների ժամանակը: Աշխարհը մեզ է նայում ու ձեզնից է կախված, արդյոք ապագա սերունդները կփառաբանեն ձեզ, թե կհանդիմանեն»,- ասել է Դի Կապրիոն իր ելույթի ժամանակ:
