Բաքվում ծնված ու մանկության առաջին տասը տարիներն Ադրբեջանի մայրաքաղաքում ապրած փաստաբան, մարդու իրավունքների ակտիվիստ Աննա Աստվածատրյան-Տուրկոտը, ով ներկայում բնակվում է ԱՄՆ-ում, կոչ է անում հստակ գործողություններով պայքարել մարդկության քաղցկեղ դարձած ցեղասպանությունների դեմ: «Ցեղասպանություն գաղափարախոսությունն ապրում է մինչև այսօր: Ցեղասպանությունները, էթնիկ զտումները խնդիր են բնակչությունների, տնտեսությունների համար: Տարբեր միջազգային պայմանագրեր չունեն բավականաչափ զսպիչ ուժ, որ կանխեն ցեղասպանությունները, որ այսօր էլ տեղի են ունենում աշխարհի տարբեր երկրներում: Ցեղասպանության տարրերը իսկապես եռում են Արցախում, որտեղ վերջերս քաղաքացիական անձինք են սպանվել, ինչի առնչությամբ աշխարհի հզորները միայն մտահոգություն հայտնեցին»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` «Ընդդեմ ցեղասպանության հանցագործության» գլոբալ ֆորումի ժամանակ հայտարարեց Աննա Աստվածատրյանը: Հայազգի փաստաբանն ու գրողը, վկայակոչելով Հեմինգուեյի խոսքերը` «երբեք մի խառնեք շարժումը գործողության հետ»` նկատեց, որ որոշ շրջանակների համատեղ ու լավ մտադրությունները բավականաչափ չեն կանխարգելելու ցեղասպանություն հանցագործությունը: «Այդ մտադրությունները պետք է դառնան գործողություններ, եկեք այս դարը դարձնենք ցեղասպությունների կանխման դար, որ կկոչվի` «Այլևս երբեք»»,-ասաց Աննա Աստվածատրյանը:

Նա խոսեց 1988-ին Բաքվում, Սումգայիթում, Կիրովաբադում հայերի կոտորածների վերաբերյալ` իր պապի, իր ընտանիքի ու հատկապես իր մանկությունը խեղած պատմության համատեքստում:

Բանախոսը նշեց, որ իր պապի կողմից Աստվածատրյան ազգանունը ռուսականացնելու, Աստվածատուր դարձնելու շնորհիվ իր ընտանիքը 1988-ին խուսափեց ջարդերից, ողջակիզումից ու վայրագաբար սպանվելուց: Բայց նրա հիշողության մեջ վառ են հարցերը, որոնք առաջանում էին իր մոտ ջարդերի օրերին: «Ես ծնողներիս հարցուփորձ էի անում, թե ինչու պետք է թաքցնեմ իմ ազգությունն ու ասեմ, որ ես հույն եմ, երբ դպրոցում ինձ հարցնում էին այդ մասին: Ես հարցնում էի, թե ինչու էին սև ու կանաչ հագած մարդիկ իմ տան մոտ բղավում` «մահ հայերին»: Վերջապես իմ հարցերը դադարեցին, երբ իմ ծ նողները կարողացան ամիսներ անց փախչել այնտեղից: Ես երեխայի աչքերով կարողացա զգալ էթնիկ բռնություններն ու դրանց սարսափը»,-նշեց բանախոսը` հավելելով, որ իր սփոփանքը գտավ օրագիր պահելու մեջ, որը հրապարակեց 2010 թվականին:  

«Ես հրապարակեցի իմ օրագիրը որպես անցյալի պատմություն, բայց դա նաև մեր ներկան է: Այն կոնֆլիկտը, որ ոչնչացրեց իմ մանկությունը, դեռևս շարունակվում է: Այստեղից մի քանի հարյուր կիլոմետր հեռու150 հազար հայեր են ապրում Ղարաբաղում, ովքեր էթնիկ առումով թիրախ են Ադրբեջանի կողմից ամեն օր»,-եզրափակեց Աննա Աստվածատրյանը:
