Ապրիլյան քառօրյա պատերազմի ընթացքում միակ ուժը, որը կարողացավ կոտրել Ադրբեջանի ցեղասպան ձեռքը, հայոց բանակն էր: Բանակն իր խնդիրը փայլուն կատարեց: Այս մասին Երևանի պետական համալսարանում «Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի ռազմամթերքի համեմատականը» խորագրով դասախոսության ընթացքում նշեց ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի մամուլի քարտուղար Արծրուն Հովհաննիսյանը:

«Ապրիլյան քառօրյա պատերազմի վերլուծությունների մասին շատ եք լսել: Դեռ գիտական առումով վերլուծելու ժամանակ կա: Այն իր բնույթով կայծակնային պատերազմ էր` հստակ և մեծ խնդիրներով: Այս պահին շատ բաներ են ճշտված, հակառակորդը մեծ խնդիրներ էր իր առջև դրել` մասնավորապես կատարել շեղող հարվածներ, որոնց պետք է հետևեր հիմնական հարվածը կենտրոնից: Մեր զորքերի պայքարն անզիջում էր. նրանք թույլ չտվեցին լուրջ առաջխաղացում, դա խառնեց հակառակորդի խաղաքարտերը, կենտրոնի պլանները բացահայտվեցին և անգամ տեղի չունեցան»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ` նշեց Արծրուն Հովհաննիսյանը:
 
ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի մամուլի քարտուղարի խոսքով` պատերազմը պետք է դետալային ուսումնասիրության ենթարկվի: «Այս պատերազմը հետպատերազմյա և մինչպատերազմյա զարգացումների համար մեծ գիծ քաշեց: Այն, ինչ տեղի ունեցավ պատերազմից առաջ և հետո, ուսումնասիրության կարիք ունի: Մենք պատմական կարևորագույն իրադարձությունների, հայերի բնաջնջման, ցեղասպանության փորձի ականատես եղանք»,-նշեց նա:

Արծրուն Հովհաննիսյանի խոսքով` ամեն մի զինվոր դիրքում մինչև վերջին շունչը կռվել է, չի նահանջել:

«Շատ տեղերում մեր զինվորները հանգիստ կարող էին նահանջել, իրենց ոչ ոք չէր մեղադրի, բայց հայի տեսակի մեջ չկա նահանջել երևույթը»,-նշեց նա` հավելելով, որ ամեն դիրքում նահանջելու դեպքում վտանգվում է հարևան դիրքը, իսկ հայ զինվորներն իրենց ընկերներին հարվածի տակ դնել չեն ցանկացել:

Դիտարկմանը` արդյո՞ք եղել են խնդիրներ` կապված հետախուզության հետ, Արծրուն Հովհաննիսյանը նշեց, որ նման բան չի եղել: «Հետախուզությունը կարող է մոտավոր գործողությունների ժամկետ կամ տրամաբանություն իմանալ, բայց այն չի կարող կանխատեսել ամբողջ գործընթացը: Հետախուզությունն իմացել է, թե ինչ է կատարվում: Եթե չիմանար, զորքերն ու զորամասերը պահպանությունից պաշտպանության չէին անցնի»,-շեշտեց նա:
