1930-ականներին նորաձևության վրա հսկայական ազդեցություն գործեց Հոլիվուդը,- տեղեկացնում է Past.am-ը: Ծանր, ճգնաժամային ժամանակներում կինոն միակ հասանելի զվարճանքն էր՝ հանդիսատեսը գալիս էր շքեղորեն զարդարված կինոսրահներ ու մոռանում իր խնդիրների մասին:
Հոլիվուդը դարձավ աստղերի ֆաբրիկա, ովքեր դառնում էին ընդօրինակման առարկա միլիոնավոր հասարակ մարդկանց համար:
Ու թեև հոլիվուդյան աստղերի գեղեցկության հարցում, անկասկած, մեծ էր կոսյումներների ու գրիմյորները, օպերատորների ու լուսավորողների դերը, նրանց գեղեցկությունը անտարբեր չի թողնում մինչ օրս՝ հիացնելով շատերին:
