1. Պետք է ուժեղացնել մեր համաշխարհային դիմադրողականությունը:

2. Ամեն ժողովուրդ իր պատմության մեջ իր կռիվը գոնե մեկ անգամ մինչև վերջ պետք է տա։

3. Յուրաքանչյուր ժողովուրդ, լինի 3 միլիոնանոց, թե 300 միլիոնանոց, միշտ իր միջից կարող է հանել այնքան մարդ, որոնք կարող են երկիրը պահպանել։

4. Չգիտեմ' համաշխարհայի՞ն ազգ ենք, թե՞ ոչ, բայց պարտավոր ենք համաշխարհային գործոն դառնալ, դա փաստ է։

5. Բանակը եղել է և պետք է լինի պետության, հասարակության, ողջ հայության հոգսը։ Բանակաշինությունը ծանր, հավատացնում եմ, հաճելի հոգս է։ Բանակն ազգի ինքնաճանաչման հայելին է, բոլոր հայերի ծնունդն է, հայության հավաքական կերպարն է, նրա պատասխանատվությունը, նրա պատմության վերագնահատումը եւ հայացքը ապագային։ Սիրուն խոսքեր չեմ ասում, ընդամենը ճշմարտությունն եմ ասում։
Մեր բանակը ինքնակրթությամբ ստեղծված բանակ է։ Մենք չէինք կարող սպասել, որ հեռուներից գեներալները գային և մեզ կռվել սովորեցնեին։ Մենք մեր հովվի, արհեստավորի, բանաստեղծի միջից հանեցինք պաշտպանության նախարարին, գեներալին, զինվորին ու կռվեցինք։ Փառք Աստծո, վատ չկռվեցինք։

6. Ինձ ժողովուրդը չի ճանաչում: Ինձ նորմալ ճանաչում են իմ նեղ շրջապատի մարդիկ: Մնացյալը գիտեն ինձ մորուքով, գիտեն ջղայնացած, գիտեն քրտնած, այսօրվա եղած կերպարը դա է:

Ինձ չեն հասկանում: Ինձնից վախենում են: Իրենց համար արջի կերպար են ստեղծել ու իրար վախեցնում են: Մեկ-մեկ ես էլ եմ վախենում, որ չեմ հասցնի, ժամանակ չեմ ունենա, ցանկություն չեմ ունենա, չգիտեմ էլ ինչ չեմ ունենա ժողովրդին ասելու' այ ժողովուրդ, իրար հասկանանք, ճիշտ հասկանանք իրար… ես Աստված չեմ, ես զինվոր եմ, ես հայ եմ, ես… Չեն հասկանա: Դրա համար էլ չեմ ասում: Ամեն մարդ ինքն իր առաջ պիտի պատասխան տա' ո՞վ է ինքը…

7. Ես երջանիկ մարդ եմ: Որովհետև ինձ պատիվ ընձեռվեց իրականացնել այն երազանքները, որպիսիք փայփայում էինք գրողներս, լրագրողներս: Բայց դա բախտի բան չէ, ես եմ ընտրել իմ ճանապարհը: Երբ այդ ուղին ընտրեցի, չգիտեի, որ նախարար եմ դառնալու: Իմ գրած նախադասությունների համար չեմ կարմրում, կեղծիք չկա: Ես հիմա էլ, որպես պաշտպանության նախարար, ինչ անում եմ, դարձյալ կեղծիք չկա: Սխալմունքներ կան, բայց կեղծիք չկա:

8. Աշխարհի ուժեղները, տեսեք, թե ուր են հասել, իսկ մենք դեռ մտածում ենք' շտապել, թե չշտապել, «ըսել, թե չըսել»:
Ինչի՞ն սպասել' Հայաստանի տնտեսության վերջնական կանգառի՞ն… Հայաստանի հայաթափմա՞նը, թե՞ մինչեւ աղանդավորները առաքելականներիցս ավելի մեծ թիվ կկազմեն…
