 Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Գալուստ Սահակյանը համաձայն չէ հնչող տեսակետի հետ, թե ապրիլյան քառօրյա պատերազմի ընթացքում հայկական կողմը բացթողումներ է ունեցել: Ազգային ժողովում լրագրողների հետ զրույցում Սահակյանը նշեց, որ Ադրբեջանը, ռազմական գործողություններ սկսելով, նպատակ է ունեցել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի որևէ տարածք գրավել, սակայն դա չի հաջողվել: «Պատերազմական գործողությունների ընթացքում մեր բանակն իրեն շատ լավ է դրսևորել, և հենց դրա արդյունքում Ադրբեջանը չի կարողացել իրագործել իր ծրագրերը»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ նշեց Սահակյանը:

Դիտարկմանը, թե ՀՀ նախագահը թույլ տված բացթողումների համար ապրիլի 27-ին պաշտոններից ազատել է բարձրաստիճան զինվորականների, Գալուստ Սահակյանը պատասխանեց. «Գիտեք, դա երկրի Նախագահի որոշումն է: Ոչ միայն ռազմական, այլ նաև մյուս ոլորտներում միշտ էլ մարդիկ ազատվում են պաշտոններից տարբեր պատճառներով»:

Ազգային ժողովի նախագահը համաձայն չէ նաև այն խոսակցությունների հետ, թե հայկական կողմի զենքը չի բավարարել պատերազմի ընթացքում: Նա վստահեցրեց, որ հայկական կողմը զենքի խնդիր չի ունեցել: «Պարզապես մենք հարձակողական գործողությունների չենք անցել, ընդամենը պաշտպանել ենք մեր հողերը»,- ասաց Սահակյանը:

Անդրադառնալով դիտարկմանը, թե քառօրյա պատերազմի ընթացքում հայկական կողմը որոշ դիրքեր է կորցրել, ինչի մասին խոսել է նաև ՀՀ նախագահը, Գալուստ Սահակյանն ասաց. «Գիտեք, պատերազմ է եղել, և հնարավոր է, որ այդ ընթացքում որոշ դիրքեր զիջենք, իսկ հաջորդ անգամ դրանք հետ բերենք: Կարևորն այն է, որ Ադրբեջանը չկարողացավ հասնել այն նպատակին, ինչի համար սկսել էր պատերազմը»,- եզրափակեց ԱԺ նախագահը:
