Իրանի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Մոհամադ Ջավադ Զարիֆը խնդրել է ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Պան Գի Մունին՝ աջակցել ԱՄՆ-ի բանկերում «ապասառեցնելու» իրանական ակտիվները եւ հորդորել է համոզել Վաշինգտոնին՝ դադարեցնելու միջամտությունը իրանական միջազգային առեւտրական ու ֆինանսական գործառնություններին, տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով Reuters գործակալությանը:

Պան Գի Մունին հղած նամակում Զարիֆը կոչ է արել գլխավոր քարտուղարին՝ օգտագործել իր ազդեցությունը եւ «ամերիկյան կառավարությանը համոզի կատարել իր միջազգային պարտավորությունները»:

«ԱՄՆ-ի գործադիր իշխանությունն ապօրինաբար սառեցնում է իրանական ազգային ակտիվները, ԱՄՆ-ի օրենսդիր իշխանությունը օրենսդրական կարգով ճանապարհ է բացում դրանց անօրինական բռնագրավումների համար, ԱՄՆ-ի դատական իշխանությունը իրանական ակտիվների բռնագրավման որոշումներ է կայացնում առանց որեւէ օրինական կամ փաստական հիմքի»,- հայտարարել է Զարիֆը նամակում, որը հրապարակվել է ՄԱԿ-ին առընթեր Իրանի ներկայացուցչության կողմից:

Ավելի վաղ Իրանի ղեկավար եւ հոգեւոր առաջնորդ այաթոլլա Ալի Խամենեին հայտարարել Է, որ Իրանի ունեգումարները վերադարձնելուց հրաժարվելու վերաբերյալ ԱՄՆ-ի Գերագույն դատարանի որոշումը տագնապ Է առաջացնում եւ խարդախություն Է: «Ամերիկայի որոշումը տագնապ Է հարուցում եւ խարդախություն Է, հատկապես Գործողությունների համատեղ համապարփակ պլանի (Թեհրանի եւ ՄԱԿ-ի ԱԽ-ի անդամ հինգ երկրների եւ Գերմանիայի միջեւ Իրանի միջուկային ծրագրին վերաբերող հարցերի կարգավորման համաձայնագրի) կնքումից հետո»,-ընդգծել Է այաթոլլան:

Ինչպես արդեն տեղեկացվել Է, ԱՄՆ-ի բանկերում Իրանի սառեցված ակտիվների օգտագործման վերաբերյալ Սիացյալ Նահանգների Գերագույն դատարանի վճռի առնչությամբ Իրանի արտաքին գործերի նախարարությունը բողոքի նոտա Է հանձնել Թեհրանում Շվեյցարիայի դեսպանությանը, որն Իսլամական Հանրապետությունում ներկայացնում Է ԱՄՆ-ի շահերը: «Շվեյցարիայի դեսպանը, որը ներկայացնում Է Իրանում ԱՄՆ-ի շահերը, կանչվել Է Իսլամական Հանրապետության արտաքին գործերի նախարարություն, որտեղ նրան բողոք նոտա են հանձնել ՝ շուրջ 2 միլիարդ սառեցված իրանական ակտիվները 1983 թվականին Բեյրութում տեղի ունեցած պայթյունի զոհերի ընտանիքներին հանձնելու վերաբերյալ Միացյալ Նահանգների Գերագույն դատարանի՝ վերջերս կայացրած վճռի առնչությամբ»,- ասված Է Մեհր գործակալության հաղորդագրության մեջ: 

ԱՄՆ-ի դատարանը 2007 թվականի իր վճռում հենվել Է այն հայցվորների կարծիքի վրա, որոնք գտնում Էին, թե պայթյունն իրականացրել են Լիբանանի շիաների «Հըզբոլլահ» շարժման զինյալներն՝ իրանցի պաշտոնատար անձանց ակտիվ օժանդակությամբ: Փոխհատուցումների վճարումը ենթադրվում Է կատարել Իրանի Կենտրոնական բանկի ունեգումարների հաշվին, որոնք պահվում են Միացյալ Նահանգների Citibank բանկում, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
