ԱՄՆ Արևմտյան Վիրջինիա նահանգը ևս ճանաչել է Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը

Արևմտյան Վիրջինիան դարձել է Միացյալ Նահանգների 44-րդ նահանգը, որը ճանաչել է Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը: Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին Հայ դատի ԱՄՆ հանձնախմբից, Արևմտյան Վիրջինիայի նահանգապետ Էրլ Ռեյ Թոմբլինը, որը 2016-ի ապրիլը հայտարարել էր ն ահանգում Ցեղասպանության հիշատակի և կանխարգելման ամիս, համապատասխան հռչակագիր է ընդունել:

Վկայակոչելով 1915-1923 թվականներին 1.5 միլիոն հայերի և 1 միլիոն հույների ու ասորիների սպանությունը, ինչպես նաև ներկայում Մերձավոր Արևելքում քրիստոնյաների, եզդիների և այլ փոքրամասնությունների ոչնչացումը` նահանգապետ Թոմբլինն իր հռչակագրում նշում է. «Ճանաչելով և մշտապես հիշելով Հայոց ցեղասպանությունն ու Հոլոքոստը, ինչպես նաև անցյալի և ներկայի բոլոր ցեղասպանությունները` մենք հարգում ենք պատմական հիշատակը, երաշխավորում, որ նման դաժանությունները չկրկնվեն, եւ աչալուրջ ենք ատելության, հալածանքի և բռնության հանդեպ»:

Տեղի հայ համայնքի ներկայացուցիչներ Համբարձում Կասպարյանը, Նենսի և Էմի Թոլիվերները կարևոր դեր են խաղացել հռչակագրի ընդունման գործում: «1915-ին իմ Համբարձում պապը, ով Անկարայում ցորենի վաճառքով զբաղվող հաջողակ գործարար էր, կեսգիշերին տնից բռնի կերպով տարվել և գլխատվել էր: Նույնն արվել էր բազմաթիվ այլ, ավելի կրթված և հաջողակ հայերի հետ, ովքեր բնակվում էին Թուրքիայում»,-պատմում է Համբարձում Կասպարյանն ու հավելում. «Իմ պապը շատ բարի և մեծահոգի մարդ է եղել: Երաշտի տարիներին նա բազմաթիվ մարդկանց սննդով է ապահովել: Հույս ունեմ, որ Արևմտյան Վիրջինիայի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչումը որոշ չափով երաշխիք կլինի, որ նման սարսափելի իրադարձություններ այլ մարդկանց հետ չեն կատարվի»:
