Արդեն քառորդ դար մեզ համար որպես հաղթանակի խորհրդանիշ նույնանում են Շուշին ու Բեռլինը, ինչպես որ մայիսը հայ սերունդների փոխկանչն է հաստատում՝ Ավարայրից Սարդարապատ:
Ազգերի պատմությունը պատահականություններ չի ունենում, և ազգերն իրենց հարատևությունը հավաստում են ժառանգելու հաստատակամությամբ: Այսօր էլ մեր սահմաններին պատերազմ է, Հայրենակա՛ն պատերազմ, ինչպես 90-ականներին էր, ինչպես 40-ականներին էր:
Ոչինչ չի փոխվել: Ե՛վ իրենք են նույնը, և՛ մենք: Ամենայն մարդկայինն արմատախիլ անելու նախնիների բնազդն է առաջնորդում իրենց, մեզ՝ արմատ գցելու տոհմիկ հավատամքը: Իրենցը փախուստն է առաջին իսկ վտանգից, իսկ մենք նահանջին գերադասում ենք մահը, քանզի գիտենք՝ հատիկը մեռնելով է հազարապատկվում: Իրենք ավերողն են, մենք՝ արարողը: Եվ մեզ պարտություն չկա, որովհետև և՛ իրենք, և՛ մենք գիտենք. այդպե՛ս է:
Պատմությունը պատահականություններ չի ունենում: Պատահական չէին Երկրորդ համաշխարհայինի հայ մարշալներն ու ծովակալները, հարյուրից ավելի հերոսները, Բեռլին մտած Թամանյան դիվիզիան ու Քյոնիգսբերգը գրաված Բաղրամյանը: Եվ պատահական չեն Շուշին, Արցախն ու սահմանակից հայկական տարածքները ազատագրած նոր ռազմիկները, նոր հերոսները, նոր զորավարները:
Զինվորականությունը մեր գենի մեջ է, և ասպետ զորականը սրբադասված է հայոց մեջ: Եվ մեզ պարտություն չկա, որովհետև թիկունքում տուն է, մայր, քույր, երեխա, իսկ ժամանակների հեռվից մեզ պապերի ու հայրերի հայացքն է հսկում: Հսկում է Բեռլինի մատույցներից: Հսկում է Շուշիի բարձունքներից: Եվ նրանց հրամանն է մեզ բարձրացնում խրամատից ու տանում գրոհի: Եվ այդ մարտակոչն արդեն հարյուրամյակներ է տևում: Եվ այդ մարտակոչով էր Հունան Ավետիսյանը կրծքով փակում հրակնատը, իսկ այսօրվա տասնութամյա զինվորը նռնականետով գրոհային ուղղաթիռ, հովիվ պապին էլ՝ որսորդականով անօդաչու սարք խոցում:
Այդ մարտակոչով ծնվեց մեր իրական հրաշքը՝ մեր Եռատոնը, որ Բեռլինից Շուշի սերունդներ միավորեց ու դարձրեց Զորք: Ու չկա մեզ պարտություն, քանզի միակամ Զորք-Ժողովուրդն անպարտելի է:
Մեր գործն արդար է: Հաղթանակը մերն է լինելու:
