Ինչպե՞ս են տեսնում աշխարհը տարբեր կենդանիներ

Ինչպես հայտնի է շատ կենդանիներ, այդ թվում նաև տնային կենդանիները, համարվում են մասնակի դալտոնիկներ։ Կենդանի արարածների տեսողական ընկալումը կախված է նրանից, թե ինչպես են աչքերը արձագանքում լույսին։ Մարդկանց մոտ հաստատվել է ռեցեպտորների երեք տեսակ՝ «կոնաձև», որոնք ընկալում են կարմիր, կապույտ և կանաչ գույները, իսկ մյուս տեսակի ռեցեպտորները օգնում են տեսնել մթության մեջ։
Իսկ կենդանիների մոտ, աչքերը այլ կերպ են կառուցված։ Որոշ կենդանիներ ունեն ֆոտոռեցեպտորների ընդամենը 2 տեսակ, որն էլ պատճառ է հանդիսանում նրանց «դալտոնիզմի»։ Իսկ կան արարածներ, որոնց ռեցեպտորները 4-ն են, որը թույլ է տալիս նրանց տեսնել ուլտրամանուշակագույն և բևեռացած լույսը։
