«Այս տարի մայիսյան տոներն առանձնահատուկ իմաստ ստացան։ Ապրիլի սկզբին ծավալված պատերազմական գործողություններն Արցախում, 100-ի չափ զոհերը, ղարաբաղյան խնդրի շուրջ ծավալված իրադարձությունները մի տեսակ սրեցին պատերազմի թեման և մայիսյան եռատոնին ավելի զգացմունքային խորհուրդ հաղորդեցին։ Բացի այն, որ հիմա հասարակությունն զգայուն է պատերազմական թեմայի հետ կապված, նաև հայրենիքի համար կռվելն ու հերոսաբար զոհվելը, առաջնագծում կանգնելն ու սահմանները պաշտպանելը դարձել են մարդկային դրսևորումներից ամենաարժեքավորը, ամենագնաահատվածը։ Թիկունքում ապրողներս հասկացանք, որ պատերազմը միայն ֆիլմերում տեսած, մեր հայրերից ու պապերից լսած պատմությունները չեն, ոչ Էլ անգամ 90-ականներին կառուցված Եռաբլուրն ու հիշողությունները։ Այն շատ ավելի մոտ ու շոշափելի իրողություն Է, որն ամեն րոպե կարող Է վերադառնալ և մեզնից տանել ամենաթանկն ու սիրելին՝ մեր կողքին ապրող մարդկանց։ Նաև կարող Է զրկել հանգիստ ապրելու, արարելու հնարավորությունից, որը տալիս Է խաղաղությունը։ Իսկ խաղաղության գինը միայն պատերազմի ժամանակ Է զգացվում։ Մենք հասկացանք նաև, որ մարդկության անցած հսկայական ուղին, միջազգային հարյուրավոր կառույցների ստեղծումը, հազարավոր փաստաթղթերի ու պայմանագրերի վավերացումը խաղաղության երաշխիք չեն տալիս։ Եվ քաղաքակիրթ աշխարհը կարող Է հանգիստ կողքից հետևել, թե ինչպես Է արյուն թափվում, ինչպես են ժողովուրդները կռվում՝ ավերելով ու փոշիացնելով տասնամյակների կառուցածը, ձեռք բերածը։ Մի քանի ձևական հայտարարություններ կհրապարակեն, ագրեսորին ու զոհին ուղղված միանման կոչեր կհնչեցնեն և ձեռքերը լվանալով կքաշվեն մի կողմ՝ ընդամենը ջանք գործադրելով, որ մեր պատերազմն իրենց բարեկեցությանը չվնասի»»,–գրում է թերթը։
