Մայիսի 10-ին Հայաստանի ԱԳ նախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանն ընդունեց Հարավային Կովկասի եւ Վրաստանի ճգնաժամի հարցերով ԵՄ հատուկ ներկայացուցիչ Հերբերտ Զալբերին եւ նրան ներկայացրել Արցախի դեմ Ադրբեջանի լայնածավալ ռազմական ագրեսիայի արդյունքում բանակցային գործընթացին հասցված վնասը, դրա հետեւանքները հաղթահարելուն ուղղված ջանքերը:
ԱԳՆ-ից հայտնում են, որ ԵՄ հատուկ ներկայացուցիչը նշեց, որ հիմնահարցը ռազմական լուծում չունի, եւ Եվրոպական միությունը սատարում է ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահների ջանքերը՝ ուղղված հիմնախնդրի բացառապես խաղաղ հանգուցալուծմանը:
Զրուցակիցները մտքեր փոխանակեցին բանակցային գործընթացի վերսկսման հնարավորությունների շուրջ։ Այս առումով նախարար Նալբանդյանը շեշտեց, որ այս պահին հնարավոր հանդիպումները կարող են ուղղված լինել ապրիլի սկզբին Արցախի դեմ Ադրբեջանի ագրեսիայի կրկնության բացառմանը, 1994-1995թթ. զինադադարի հաստատման եւ ամրապնդման վերաբերյալ եռակողմ անժամկետ համաձայնագրերի անվերապահ կատարմանը, զինադադարի խախտումների հետաքննության մեխանիզմի ներդրմանը։ Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանի խոսքերով այդ քայլերը համապատասխան պայմաններ կստեղծեն բանակցային գործընթացը շարունակելու համար:
Հայաստանի արտգործնախարարը եւ ԵՄ հատուկ ներկայացուցիչն անդրադարձան ՀՀ-ԵՄ հարաբերություններին, դրանց իրավական հիմքի շուրջ բանակցություններին:
