Ռուսաստանի եւ Վրաստանի քաղաքական հարաբերություններում առայժմ առաջընթաց չկա, բայց կա ձգտում՝ նորմալացնելու գործակցությունն այն ոլորտներում, որտեղ առաջխաղացում Է դիտվում՝ զբոսաշրջության, տնտեսության եւ մշակույթի բնագավառներում:
Այդ մասին հայտարարել Է Վրաստանի վարչապետ Գեորգի Կվիրիկաշվիլին՝ Լոնդոնում ելույթ ունենալով փորձագետների հետ կայացած հան դիպմանը:
Վրաստանի արտաքին մարտահրավերների թվում նա որպես «ամենամեծը» նշել Է Ռուսաստանը: Դրա հետ մեկտեղ վարչապետն ընդգծել Է, որ «2008 թվականին Վրաստանի եւ Ռուսաստանի հարաբերությունների կտրուկ վատացումից հետո» Թբիլիսին «այժմ ուղիներ Է փնտրում լարվածության աստիճանը փոքր-ինչ թուլացնելու համար»:
Նա նաեւ «որոշակի առաջընթաց» Է նշել երկու երկրների հարաբերությունների հումանիտար ոլորտում: «Վրաստան են գալիս հարյուր հազարավոր ռուս զբոսաշրջիկներ: Վրաստանը առավել մեծ ժողովրդականություն վայելող ուղղությունն Է դառնում ռուս զբոսաշրջիկների համար»,-ասել Է Կվիրիկաշվիլին:
«Բայց, չնայած դրան, մենք առաջընթաց չունենք քաղաքականության մեջ»,-ընդգծել Է Վրաստանի վարչապետը եւ հավելել. «Մենք ջանում ենք նորմալացնել գոնե այն ոլորտները, որտեղ ձեռքբերումներ կան՝ առեւտուրը, զբոսաշրջությունը, մշակույթը», հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
