Ամերիկացի գեներալը հանդիպումներ է ունեցել Հայաստանի ՊՆ-ում

Մայիսի 23-ին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սեյրան Օհանյանն ընդունել է Եվրոպայում ԱՄՆ ցամաքային զորքերի հրամանատար, գեներալ-լեյտենանտ Ֆրեդերիկ /Բեն/ Հոդջեսի եւ ԱՄՆ Կանզասի նահանգի Ադյուտանտ գեներալ, գեներալ-մայոր Լի Թաֆանելլիի գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը` ՀՀում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսի ուղեկցությամբ:
Հանդիպման ընթացքում քննարկվել են Եվրոպայում ԱՄՆ ցամաքային զորքերի եւ Կանզասի նահանգի հետ համագործակցությանն առնչվող հարցեր: ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարը կարեւորել է համագործակցության շրջանակներում իրականացվող մի շարք նախագծերը, մասնավորապես` փոխգործակցելիության մակարդակի բարձրացման նպատակներով համատեղ վարժանքներ, պրոֆեսիոնալ սերժանտական համակարգի պատրաստում, միջազգային խաղաղապահ առաքելություններին աջակցելու նպատակով Հայաստանի ստանձնած հանձնառությամբ բժշկական եւ ինքնաշեն պայթուցիկ սարքերի հայտնաբերման եւ վնասազերծման մասնագիտացված ստորաբաժանումների պատրաստում եւ այլն:
Գեներալ-լեյտենանտ Հոդջեսը շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար՝ նշել է, որ ուրախ է Երեւանում անձամբ լինելու եւ համագործակցության զարգացման ուղղությամբ քննարկումների ունենալու համար, հատկապես, որ այս տարի արդեն հնարավորություն է ունեցել տեսնելու ՀՀ ԶՈՒ ռազմաբժշկական անձնակազմի տպավորիչ մասնակցությունը Գեմանիայի Հոհենֆելս քաղաքում Եվրոպայում ԱՄՆ ցամաքային զորքերի «Միաձուլված Սուր» զորավարժությանը:
Հանդիպման արդյունքում պայմանավորվածություն է ձեռք բերվել զարգացնել Եվրոպայում ԱՄՆ ցամաքային զորքերի եւ Կանզասի Ազգային Գվարդիայի համագործակցությունը Հայաստանի հետ՝ ինչպես երկկողմ ձեւաչափով, այնպես էլ տարածաշրջանում այլ գործընկերների հետ` փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող ոլորտներում, ինչպիսիք են խաղաղապահ գործողությունները եւ ՆԱՏՕ-ի «Օպերատիվ կարողությունների հայեցակարգ» ծրագիրը:
Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորման շուրջ քննարկումների ընթացքում ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարը ներկայացրել է ապրիլի սկզբին ԼՂՀ-ի դեմ Ադրբեջանի սանձազերծած մարտական գործողությունների, ինչպես նաեւ ղարաբաղա-ադրբեջանական հակամարտ զորքերի շփման գծում տիրող ներկայիս իրավիճակի վերաբերյալ տեղեկատվություն:
Ամերիկյան կողմը հայտնել է իր մտահոգությունը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում տեղի ունեցած բռնությունների զարգացման ժամանակ կողմերի կրած մարդկային կորուստների կապակցությամբ, նշել, որ հավատարիմ է ԵԱՀԿ խմբի գործընթացի միջոցով համակարտության խաղաղ կարգավորմանը:
Այցի ընթացքում ամերիկյան պատվիրակությունը մասնակցել է մարշալ Համազասպ Բաբաջանյանի արձանի բացման արարողությանը:
