Ճարպի ցածր պարունակությամբ սննդակարգերը վնասակար են առողջության համար, պնդում են National Obesity Forum-ի եւ Public Health Collaboration-ի գիտնականները: Կալորիաները հաշվելու փոխարեն ավելի լավ է այնպիսի մթերքներ օգտագործել, որոնք օգտակար ճարպեր են պարունակում: 

Քիչ կարագ, պանիր, սերուցք եւ այլ յուղոտ մթերքներ ուտելու ձգտումը, գիտնականների խոսքով, ոչ միայն չի օգնում նիհարելուն, այլեւ, ընդհակառակը, վնասակար է առողջության համար: Հենց ճարպերից հրաժարումն է ճարպակալման գլոբալ համաճարակի պատճառը, որն առողջության համար աղետալի հետեւանքներ է ունենում: Փորձագետները կոչ են անում վերանայել առկա սննդակարգային հրահանգները եւ վերջ տալ ճարպին սատանայական հատկանիշներով օժտելուն: 

Իրենց աշխատանքում գիտնականներն ասում են, որ կալորիաների եւ ֆիզիկական ծանրաբեռնվածության հաշվարկը հազիվ թե կարողանա օգնել ավելորդ քաշի դեմ պայքարում, իսկ կարագը ձիթայուղով փոխարինելը ոչ միշտ է լավ գաղափար: 

Աշխարհի շատ երկրներում, ներառյալ Մեծ Բրիտանիան, այսօր պայքար է մղվում ճարպակալման դեմ: Ճարպակալումն ու իր հետեւանքները բրիտանական տնտեսությանը  տարեկան  16 մլրդ ֆունտ են արժենում: Բրիտանիայի բնակիչների շրջանում աճում է նաեւ երկրորդ տեսակի դիաբետով հիվանդների թիվը:  

Վերոհիշյալ գիտնականները պնդում են, որ ճարպակալման համաճարակի արմատն  այն սեւեռվածությունն է, որ ունեն ճարպի ցածր պարունակությամբ սննդակարգերի ժամանակակից երկրպագուները: Նրանց խոսքով, ամենից ճիշտ կլինեն անցնել ածխաջրերի փոքրիկ պարունակությամբ սննդակարգի: Իսկ ճարպի բարձր պարունակությամբ այնպիսի մթերքներ, ինչպիսիք են պանիրը, կաթը եւ յոգուրտը իրականում նվազեցնում են ճարպակալման ռիսկը: 

«Ամենաբնական եւ օգտակար սննդամթերքը, ներառյալ միսը, ձուկը, ձվերը, կաթնամթերքը, ընկույզը, սերմերը, ձիթապտուղը եւ ավոկադոն հագեցած ճարպեր են պարունակում», - հիշեցնում են գիտնականները:
