Ներկայացնում ենք թերթի խմբագրականից մի հատված.

«Սովորաբար «պոպուլիզմ» բառն օգտագործվում է բացասական երանգավորումներով։ Անձամբ ինձ էլ առանձնապես դուր չի գալիս «լայն ժողովրդական զանգվածներին» դուր գալու համար կոկորդ պատռելն ու բոցաշունչ ճառեր արտասանելը։ Ես չեմ հավանում դա նաև այն պատճառով, որ սովորաբար, երբ ընդդիմադիր կոկորդ պատոողները հայտնվում են իշխանական ճամբարում, նրանք դառնում են պոպուլիզմի առաջին խարազանողը։ Բայց այն, որ Հայաստանում խոսվում է պոպուլիզմի մասին, արդեն իսկ դրական փաստ Է։ Ադրբեջանում, Կենտրոնական Ասիայամ կամ Միջին Արևելքի բազմաթիվ երկրներում պոպուլիզմ կա՞։ Իհարկե, ոչ, որովհետև ժողովրդին հաճելի բաներ ասելու կարիքը բացարձակապես չկա ՝ քաղաքական կյանքի և հասարակական կարծիքի բացակայության պայմաններում։

Հայաստանում նույնպես պոպալիզմի անհրաժեշտություն կա. թեև ժողովուրդն առայժմ չի կարողանում իշխանություն ձևավորել, բայց այնպես էլ չի, որ հասարակական տրամադրությունները որևէ նշանակություն չունեն։ Մեզանում քաղաքական այս հոսանքն ունի երկու հիմնական ուղղություն ՝ ազատագրել պատմական հայրենիքը և կախել հարուստներին ու իշխանավորներին։ Ընդ որում, երբ պատմական հայրենիքի մի մասը ազատագրվում է, պոպուլիզմն ամբողջությամբ ուղղվում է երկրորդ՝ սոցիալական հուն։ Օրինակ՝ 1992-1994թթ. պատերազմի բարեհաջող ավարտը որևէ քաղաքական միավոր չբերեց առաջին նախագահ Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանին, որովհետև Արցախն ազատագրվել էր «ի հեճուկս նրա ցանկության», իսկ իրականամ նա զբաղված էր «Ղարաբաղը թուրքերին ծախելով», իսկ ներքին կյանքում «ցուրտ ու մութ կազմակերպելով»»,–գրում է թերթի խմբագիրը։
