Ինչ տրամաբարությամբ ու սկզբունքներով են առաջնորդվում Հայաստանի իշխանությունները Հայաստանի արձաններ տեղադրելու մասին որոշում կայացնելիս? Ինձ մոտ տպավորություն կա, որ տվյալ անձի միայն ազգությամբ հայ լինելը բավարար է նրա արձանը Երևանում դնելու համար և հատկապես սովետական ժամանակաշրջանի քաղաքական ու ռազմական գործիչների պարագայում: Մինչդեռ իմ խորին համոզմամբ անձի միայն հայ լինելը դեռ բավարար նախապայման չէ նրան մեծարելու ու հիշատակը հավերժացնելու համար: Նախ պետք է հասկանալ, ինչ է արել այդ մարդը Հայաստանի ու Հայ ժողովրդի համար, որն է նրա վաստակն ու ներդրումը Հայաստանի կայացման ու զարգացման գործում, ինչ ազդեցություն է ունեցել համամարդկային արժեքների ու գաղափարների զարգացման ու տարածման գործում: Հայաստանի պատմությանը հայտնի են մեր ազգի ու պետության համար հսկայական ու անգնահատելի վաստակ ունեցող մարդիկ, որոնց արձանները չկան Երևանում:
Իսկ ինչու ենք հեռու գնում? Նորանկախ պետության ստեղծման, պաշտպանության ու զարգացման գործում ֆանտաստիկ ներդրում ունեցած մարդկանց հիշատակը հավերժացնող որևէ հուշակոթող չունենք, օրինակ Վիկտոր Համբարձումյանի, Վազգեն Ա Կաթողիկոսի, Մոնթեի, Շահեն Մեղրյանի, իսկ վերջին 4օրյա պատերազմի ընթացքում զոհված մեր հերոսները ոչ պակաս կարևոր են Հայաստանի համար, քան Միկոյանն ու Բաբաջանյանը: Իմ խորին համոզմամբ, կապիտան Ուրֆանյանն ու Ադամը Հայաստանի ու հայ ժողովրդի համար ավելի շատ բան են արել, քան Բաղրամյանը, Բաբաջանյանը, Նելսոն Ստեփանյանը, Խուդյակովը, Միկոյանը միասին:
Բայց ինչու ենք մենք տենդագին փորձում հավերժացնել բռնապետական ռեժիմի հայազգի ներկայացիչներին, ինչու ենք ամեն գնով փորձում վերադարձնել սովետիզմը Անկախ Հայաստան???
Նախկին ԽՍՀՄ բոլոր գրեթէ պետություններում ընթանում է սովետիզմից ազատվելու գործընթաց, հանվում են սովետական գործիչների արձանները, վերանվանվում են փողոցներն ու հրապարակները, իսկ մենք, ինչպես միշտ շարժվում ենք հակառակ ճանապարհով, նորից հետ ենք գնում . . .
