Ժնևի տեղական իշխանությունները թույլադրել են Trembley պուրակում «Հիշողության լապտերներ» հուշարձանի տեղադրումը, որը նվիրված է Հայոց ցեղասպանության հիշատակին: Այս մասին տեղեկացնում է Tribune de Geneve-ը` նշելով, որ թեպետ հուշարձանի գաղափարն ի հայտ է եկել շուրջ մեկ տասնամյակ առաջ, հայկական համայնքը դրա տեղադրման թույլտվություն է ստացել միայն նախորդ շաբաթ:
Այդուհանդերձ, պայքարը դեռևս ավարտված չէ. փաստաբան Իվ Նիդեգերը հայտնել է, որ բողոքարկելու է հուշարձանի տեղադրման մասին որոշումը, քանի որ ունի այս հարցի վերաբերյալ 14 քաղաքացու դիմում-բողոքները:
« Trembley պուրակը կանաչ տարածություն է: Հետևաբար, ոչինչ չի կարող այստեղ կառուցվել` բացառությամբ հանրային հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող կառույցների, որոնք անմիջական կապ ունեն տարածքի օգտագործման հետ: Սա այդ դեպքը չէ, քանի որ դիմողը մասնավոր կազմակերպություն է, որը հետապնդում է սեփական շահերը»,- ասել է փաստաբանը: Նա նշել է. որ 9 մետր բարձրություն ունեցող լապտերները կարող են վատ ազդեցություն գործել պուրակի վրա:
Անդրադառնալով Ժնևի քաղաքային իշխանությունների կայացրած որոշմանը` նախագծի կոորդինատոր Շտեֆան Կրիստենսենը նշել է, որ չի կասկածել իրենց ծրագրի հաջողությանը: «Սա կարևոր քայլ է, մենք գոհ ենք»,- ասել է նա` համոզմունք հայտնելով, որ հուշարձանի տեղադրման դեմ հանդես եկողները քաղաքական շարժառիթներ ունեն: «Ցավալի և ապշեցուցիչ է տեսնել, որ այստեղի մարդիկ ժխտողների կողմից են»,- ասել է Կրիտենսենը:
