Աֆրիկայում 17 միլիոնից ավելի կանայք ու աղջիկներ «ջրի ստրկության» մեջ են

Աֆրիկայում 17 միլիոնից ավելի կանայք ու աղջիկներ հարկադրված են ջուր կրել իրենց տնտեսությունների ու ընտանիքների համար՝ հաղթահարելով տասնյակ կիլոմետրեր եւ դրա վրա օրական ծախսելով մի քանի ժամ: Այդ մասին գիտնականները գրում են PLoS One. հանդեսում հրապարակված հոդվածում:
«Մենք առայժմ չենք փորձել պարզել, թե ինչու են դրանով զբաղվում կանայք: Հավանաբար այն պատճառով, որ Աֆրիկայի շատ երկրներում ջուր վերցնելն ու տեղափոխելը համարվում Է ցածր կարգի աշխատանք, որը դնում են կանանց ու երեխաների վրա»,-հայտարարել Է ԱՄՆ-ի Ջորջ Վաշիգնտոնի համալսարանի աշխատակից Ջեյ Գրեմը:
Գրեմը եւ նրա գործընկերները այս եզրակացության են եկել, վերլուծելով այն տվյալները, որոնք հավաքվել Էին միջազգային բարեգործական եւ հումանիտար տարբեր առաքելությունների կողմից, որոնք ոչ վաղ անցյալում այցելել են Սահարայից հարավ ընկած երկրների տարածք: Ուսումնասիրելով, թե ինչպես են աֆրիկացիներն իրենց ապահովում ջրով, գիտնականները խիստ տագնապալի իրողություն են բացահայտել:
Պարզվել Է, որ ջրի հայթայթմամբ ու դրա կրելով զբաղվում են բացառապես կանայք ու աղջիկները, ընդ որում՝ դա բնութագրական Է եղել ինչպես Հյուսիսային Աֆրիկայի երկրների, այնպես Էլ մայրցամաքի հարավային կեսի բնակիչների համար:
Կանանց այսօրինակ «ջրի ստրկության» ամենացածր մակարդակը դիտվել Է Լիբիայում, որտեղ նման աշխատանքով զբաղված Էին մոտավորապես հավասար թվաքանակով տղամարդիկ ու թույլ սեռի ներկայացուցիչներ: Գվինեյան ծոցի երկրներում եւ Աֆրիկայի հյուսիսարեւելյան պետություններում հակառակ իրադրությունն Էր. օրինակ՝ Կոտ դ՛ Իվուարում կանանց բաժին Է ընկնում տեղափոխվող ամբողջ ջրի շուրջ 90 տոկոսը:
Համանման վիճակ Է դիտվել նաեւ երեխաների շրջանում. ջուրը կրում են հիմնականում աղջիկները, որոնց բաժին Է ընկնում այդ աշխատանքի 69 տոկոսը, այլ ոչ թե տղաները: Մի քանի այնպիսի երկրներում, ինչպիսիք են Եթովպիան ու Նիգերիան, 1 միլիոնից ավելի ընտանիքների երեխաներ հարկադրված են ջուր կրել, այլ ոչ թե սովորել դպրոցում կամ զբաղվել որեւԷ այլ գործով:
Ինչպես նշում են գիտնականները, մեծ հեռավորությամբ ջրի տեղափոխումը խիստ բացասաբար Է ազդում կանանց ու երեխաների առողջության վրա, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
