ՀՀ ոստիկանության պետ Վլադիմիր Գասպարյանը hունիսի 2-ին հանդիպում է ունեցել Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսի և նրան ուղեկցող անձանց հետ և քննարկել փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող մի շարք հարցեր։ Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ոստիկանության լրատվական ծառայությո ւնից՝ նշելով. «Ողջունելով հյուրին՝ Վլադիմիր Գասպարյանը կարևորեց արդեն ավանդական համագործակցության, մասնավորապես, ամերիկյան փորձագետների աջակցության նշանակությունը ոստիկանության հետևողական բարեփոխման և ոստիկանական գործունեության արդիականացման համատեքստում:
Ռիչարդ Միլսը ներկայացրեց դեսպանության թմրամիջոցների դեմ պայքարի և իրավապահ համագործակցության բաժնի ավագ խորհրդատու Ադի Հոլովեյին և գոհունակություն հայտնեց, որ ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը իրավապահ հարցերով խորհրդատուի միջոցով անմիջականորեն կարող է աշխատել ոստիկանության պետի և ոստիկանության այլ ղեկավար պաշտոնյաների հետ: Հպարտ ենք, նշեց արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպանը, որ գործակցում ենք Ձեզ հետ և կիսվում իրավապահ տարբեր մոտեցումների վերաբերյալ փորձով:
Անդրադառնալով ՀՀ ոստիկանության գործունեության մեջ կատարված դրական փոփոխություններին՝ Ռիչա րդ Միլսը նկատեց, որ հասարակության վստահությունը վայելելն ու քաղաքացիների անվտանգության ապահովումը այն մարտահրավերն են, որ իրավապահ ուժերի առաջ ծառացած են ողջ աշխարհում, իսկ դրանց ապահովումն ամուր ու կայուն հասարակության անհրաժեշտ նախապայմանն է:
Ռիչարդ Միլսն ընդգծեց, որ ոստիկանական ուժերն ու ղեկավարությունը կարողացել են առերեսվել այս մարտահրավերներին՝ ի թիվս այլ զարգացումների դրական տեղաշարժեր ապահովելով մարդկանց թրաֆիքինգի վերացման, թմրամիջոցների դեմ պայքարի և հանրահավաքների կառավարման հարցերում:
Բարեկամական ու կառուցողական մթնոլորտում անցած հանդիպման ընթացքում քննարկվեցին փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող մի շարք հարցեր:
