Հիսուս ասում է.
- Եկե՛ք ինձ մոտ դուք բոլո՛րդ, հոգնածնե՛ր և բեռնավորվածնե՛ր, և ես պիտի հանգիստ տամ ձեզ։ Վերցրե՛ք իմ լուծը ձեզ վրա և սովորեցե՛ք ինձնից, որովհետև հեզ եմ ու սրտով խոնարհ, և դուք ձեր հոգեկան հանգստությունը պիտի գտնեք, քանի որ իմ լուծը տանելի է, և իմ բեռը՝ թեթև։
(Մատթեոսի ավետարան 11:28-30)
Մեկ մարդու պատճառով էր, որ մեղքն աշխարհ մտավ, և մեղքի պատճառով էլ աշխարհ մտավ մահը։ Եվ այսպիսով, մահը տիրեց բոլոր մարդկանց, որովհետև բոլորն էլ մեղք գործեցին։ Դեռ Օրենքը չեկած՝ մեղքն աշխարհում էր, բայց մեղքը
նկատի չէր առնվում, քանի որ Օրենք չկար։ Եվ սակայն Ադամից սկսած մինչև Մովսեսը մահը թագավորեց նույնիսկ նրանց վրա, որոնք Ադամի գործած անհնազանդության մեղքը չգործեցին։ Իսկ Ադամը նախօրինակն էր նրա, որ գալու էր։
Բայց նախ՝ հստակ մի տարբերություն կա մեղքի և շնորհի միջև, որովհետև եթե ճշմարիտ է, որ մեկի հանցանքով բոլորը մեռան, առավել ևս ճշմարիտ է, որ Աստված մեկ մարդու՝ Հիսուս Քրիստոսի շնորհիվ իր շնորհն ու ձրի պարգևը առատացրեց բոլորի վրա։ Ապա դարձյալ տարբերություն կա մեկի մեղանչումով առաջ եկած արդյունքի և ձրի պարգևի միջև, որովհետև եթե մեկի մեղանչումով աստվածային դատաստանը դատապարտության տակ էր առնում բոլորին, շնորհը, հակառակ բոլորի մեղանչումին, արդարացնում է նրանց։ Արդարև, եթե ճշմարիտ է, որ մեկ մարդու պատճառով, մեկ հոգու հանցանքով թագավորեց մահը, որչա՜փ ավելի ճշմարիտ է, որ Աստծու առատ շնորհն ու արդարության պարգևն ստացողները պիտի թագավորեն կյանքի մեջ մե՛կ անձի՝ Հիսուս Քրիստոսի միջոցով։ Ապա ուրեմն, ինչպես որ մեկ հոգու հանցանքով բոլոր մարդիկ ենթակա եղան դատապարտության, այնպես էլ մեկ հոգու արդար գործով բոլոր մարդիկ արդարանում և կյանք են ունենում, որովհետև ինչպես մեկ մարդու անհնազանդությամբ բոլորը մեղավոր եղան, այնպես էլ մեկ հոգու հնազանդությամբ բոլորը պիտի արդարանան։
