Մոսկվան երբեք չի հարձակվի ՆԱՏՕ-ի որեւէ երկրի վրա, դա հասկանալի է բոլոր պատասխանատու քաղաքական գործիչներին: Այս մասին ասել է Ռուսաստանի արտգործնախարար Սերգեյ Լավրովը, փոխանցում է Սերգեյ Լավրովը:

«Մեր վերաբերմունքը ՆԱՏՕ-ի ընդլայնմանը ու ՆԱՏՕ-ի այսպես կոչված գործընկերային ծրագրի ընդայնմանը, որն ուղեկցվում է մեր սահմաններին ռազմական ենթակառուցվածքի մոտեցումով, չի փոխվել: Մեր անվտանգության հայեցակարգերում հստակ ամրագրված է, որ անվտանգության հիմնական սպառնալիքներից մեկը ՆԱՏՕ-ի հետագա ընդլայնումն է դեպի արեւելք... շեշտեմ, մենք որպես սպառնալիք ենք դիտարկում ոչ թե ՆԱՏՕ-ի բուն գոյության փաստը, այլ այն, թե ինչ ձեւով է այդ ռազմական դաշինքը գործում»,- ասել է Լավրովը հունիսի 6-ին մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ:

Նրա խոսքով, «լուրջ վերլուծաբանները ոչ մի կասկած չունեն, որ հիմա ՆԱՏՕ-ն պատրվակ դարձնելով Ուկրաինայում կատարված պետհեղաշրջումն ու Ուկրաինայում ռուսներին հեղնակազրկելու փորձերին մեր արձագանքները, փորձում է դաշինքի գոյության համար նոր իմաստ հորինել»:

«Ես վստահ եմ, որ բոլոր լուրջ ու ազնիվ քաղաքական գործիչները հրաշալի գիտեն, որ Ռուսաստանը երբեք չի հարձակվի Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքի որեւէ անդամ երկրի վրա: Մենք նմանատիպ ոչ մի ծրագիր չունենք: Ես կարծում եմ, որ ՆԱՏՕ-ն այդ մասին հոյակապ գիտի, պարզապես օգտվում է առիթից, որպեսզի ավելի շատ տեխնիկա ու գումարտակներ տեղակայի ՝ որպես երաշխիք, որ ԱՄՆ –ն առաջվա պես կհսկի այս ամբողջ տարածքը»,- ասել է Լավրովը:
