«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է. «Հունիսի 4-ի երեկոյան Նուբարաշենի ճանապարհին ծեծի են ենթարկել եւ սպանել հայտնի լեզվաբան, ԵՊՀ դասախոս, հայոց լեզվի թեստերի հեղինակ Փառանձեմ Մեյթիխանյանի ամուսնուն՝ 58-ամյա Եղիշե Խաչատրյանին: Երեկ նրա հոգեհանգիստն էր: Հարազատները՝ հանգուցյալի մայրը, կինը, այնքան այլայլված էին, որ ի վիճակի չէին խոսել դեպքի մասին:
Մեզ հաջողվեց մանրամասներ պարզել: Խաչատրյանն իր «Ֆորդ տրանզիտով» երթեւեկելիս է եղել Սովետաշենի ավտոխճուղով, երբ նկատել է հոսքին հակառակ՝ կանոնների խախտմամբ երթեւեկող ավտոմեքենա: Եղիշե Խաչատրյանը, որը, ասում են, բարեկիրթ անձնավորություն էր, առանց տոնը բարձրացնելու նկատողություն արել ավտոմեքենայի երիտասարդ վարորդին՝ սխալ վարելու համար:
Վարորդը 4-5 ընկերների հետ՝ երիտասարդ տղաների, ծանր է տարել նկատողությունը: Նրանք իջել են ավտոմեքենայից եւ կոպիտ հայհոյանքներ ուղղել Խաչատրյանին: Վերջինս էլ բարկացել է, քանի որ հայհոյանքները լսել է նաեւ մայրը, որը մեքենայում է եղել: Նա դուրս է եկել եւ հարվածել է հայհոյողին:
Ծեծկռտուք է սկսվել: Խուլիգանները դաժանորեն ծեծել են տղամարդուն, հարվածել գ;խին ծանր երկաթե ձողով, սպանել են նրան մոր աչքի առջեւ եւ դիակը թողնելով ճանապարհին, հեռացել:
