Մեծ ու շքեղ պալատներ՝ արվեստի թանկարժեք գործերով, հսկայական ավտոկայանատեղով, շատ դեպքերում նաեւ՝ սեփական ինքնաթիռով. իհարկե, նման շքեղություն իրենց կարող են թույլ տալ միլիարդատերերն ու տարբեր երկրների առաջնորդները։ Լավ է մեկ անգամ տեսնել, քան հազար անգամ լսել. ԱՄՆ բոլոր նախագահները բնակվել են Վաշինգթոնում տեղակայված Սպիտակ տանը, որի շինարարությունը սկսվել է 1972 թվականից։
Ներկայիս Սպիտակ տունը վեցհարկանի է (երկուսը նկուղային հարկեր են)։ Այն ունի 132 սենյակ, 35 լոգասենյակ, 147 պատուհան, 412 դուռ, երեք վերելակ, յոթ աստիճան։
Սպիատակ տունը բավականին պարզ է դասավորված. առաջին հարկում տեղակայված է Քարտեզների սենյակը, Ոսկեպատ եւ Ճապոնական սենյակները, պաշտոնական ընդունելությունների սենյակը։ Երկրորդ հարկում են Հանդիսությունների սենյակը, Կարմիր, Երկնագույն եւ Կանաչ դահլիճները, Ընտանեկան ճաշասենյակն ու Արեւելյան դահլիճը։ Ի դեպ, վերջինս ամենամեծն է։
Աշխարհահռչակ օվալային աշխատասենյակը, որտեղ իր աշխատանքային ժամերն է անցկացնում նախագահը, գտնվում է Արեւելյան թեւում։ Երրորդ հարկն անվանում են «ընտանեկան», քանզի հենց այնտեղ են տեղակայված նախագահնի ընտանիքի անդամների սենյակները։

Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը, ըստ մամուլի հրապարակումների, ունի քսան առանձնատուն։

Ռուսաստանի նախագահը մշտական բնակվում է Մոսկվայից երեսուն կմ հեռավորության վրա տեղակայված Ռուբլյովկայում։

Ելիսեյան պալատը Ֆրանսիայի նախագահի պաշտոնական բնակավայրն է
Բրազիլիայի նախագահի պաշտոնական բնակավայրն էլ Ալվորադայի ամրոցն է.
Այս հետաքրքիր ամրոցը կառուցվել է դեռեւս 1958 թվականին։Այն երեքհարկանի շինություն է 7000 քմ մակերեսով։ 2004 թվականին այն կապիտալ վերանորոգվել է։
