Ինչպես է ստեղծվել ամուսնական մատանին

Ամուսնական մատանու ծագումը հասնում է մինչև այն ժամանակները, երբ որոշ քոչվոր ցեղերի մոտ այսպիսի սովորույթ կար. Տղամարդը, որպեսզի թույլ չտար փախչելու իր սիրած աղջկան կամ կնոջը, ոտքի կոճին կապում էր հոտավետ ծղոտ: Հետագայում անհուսալի «կապանքները» փոխվեցին, դարձան կաշվե:
Քաղաքակիրթ հռոմեացիներն այդ սովորույթին տվեցին զուտ պայմանական բնույթ: Նրանք իրենց ընտրյալներին «դրոշմում» էին` նրանց մատին հագցնելով օղակ` սկզբում երկաթե, հետո` ոսկե: Քրիստոնեական եկեղեցին վերցրեց և օրինականացրեց այդ սովորույթը: Այդ ժամանակվանից ամուսնական մատանիների փոխանակումը դարձավ պսակադրության արարողության հիմնական և ամենագեղեցիկ պահերից մեկը:
Հարսանեկան մատանին ձախ մատի մատնեմատին կրելու ավանդույթը գալիս է դեռ մեր նախահայրերից: Հին Հունաստանում հավատում էին, որ դեպի սիրտը տանող ամենակարճ ուղին հենց ձախ ձեռքի մատնեմատն է:
Իսկ Կոնգոյում հարսանեկան մատանուն փոխարինում է թևնոցը: Աղքատ բնակիչները երկու նման թևնոցներ են պատրաստում ծառի կեղևից, որոնցից մեկը պետք է հարսնացուն կրի, իսկ մյուսը` փեսացուն: Սա խորհրդանշում է հետևյալ արտահայտությունը. «Երկրի պտղից թող ստանամ իմ բարիքը, և երկիրը ինչ պտուղ որ տա, ես այն կկիսեմ քեզ հետ: Իսկ հարուստները փոխանակում են ոսկյա, ծանր քաշով թևնոցներ, սա էլ խորհրդանշում է.«Ես որոշ կարողություն ունեմ և այն կիսում եմ քեզ հետ»:
