Չեխիայի կաթոլիկ եկեղեցու առաջնորդ և Պրահայի արքեպիսկոպոս Կարդինալ Դոմինիկ Դուկան հանդես է եկել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչելու կոչով: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը` վկայակոչելով «Օրեր» եվրոպական անկախ ամսագիրը, հունիսի 9-ին Կարդինալ Դոմինիկ Դուկան Հայաստանի ու Չեխիայի նախագահներին ուղղված իր նամակում կոչ է արել, որպեսզի Չեխիայի Հանրապետությունը նույնպես Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմի տարիներին հայ ժողովրդի ցեղասպանության մասին որոշում կայացնի։

Իր նամակում նա շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Հայաստանի նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին և Չեխիայի նախագահ Միլոշ Զեմանին` քրիստոնեական հիասքանչ Հայաստանի մայրաքաղաք Երևանից իրեն հեռախոսով ողջյուններ փոխանցելու համար։

«Դեռևս անցյալ տարվա նոյեմբերին Հայաստան կատարած իմ այցից, որը տեղի ունեցավ Ձերդ գերազանցության և Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Բ-ի հրավերով, հիշողությանս մեջ վառ են մնացել հայ ժողովրդի խորը հավատքն ու հյուրընկալությունը ։ Մեր նախագահին շնորհակալություն եմ հայտնում  1915 թվականին հայ ժողովրդի  ցեղասպանության հուշահամալիրում իր արտահայտած կարծիքի համար։ Անցյալ տարի ինքս ծաղկեպսակ դրեցի այդ հուշարձանին` Նորին սրբության ու իմ հայ ընկերների  ուղեկցությամբ։ Նմանապես այդ ցավալի իրադարձությունները հիշատակեցինք Պրահայի ՍուրÕ ¢ Վիտի, Վացլավի և Վոյտեխի տաճարում անցկացված պատարագի ընթացքում։ Շնորհակալ եմ նախագահ Միլոշ Զեմանին իր տեսակետի ու մտադրության համար, որ Չեխիայի Հանրապետությունը, որը հայ ժողովրդի 100-ամյա հիշողության մասին վեպ է նվիրել, ինչպիսին է Ֆրանց Վերֆելի «Մուսա լեռան 40 օրը», որպեսզի 101 տարի անց Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին իր վերաբերմունքը հայտնի։ Ցավի և տառապանքի, խորը հավատքի, աշխարհի հնագույն ժողովուրդներից մեկի և առաջին քրիստոնեական պետության նվիրվածությունից աճում է նաև կրոնական ազատության ծառը, փոխադարձ հարգանքն ու եղբայրությունը։ Տ եղին են Հիսուսի խոսքերը. «Ճշմարտությունը կազատի Ձեզ»»,- նշել է Դոմինիկ Կարդինալ Դուկան:

Չեխիայի նախագահ Միլոշ Զեմանը Երևանում հունիսի 8-ին հայտարարել է, որ ոչ միայն կողմնակից է Չեխիայի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչմանը, այլ նաև այդ հարցով դիմելու է երկրի կառավարությանն ու խորհրդարանին:
