Լուսային աղտոտումը Երկրի բնակիչների մեկ երրորդին զրկել է Ծիր Կաթինը տեսնելու հնարավորությունից

ԱՄՆ բնակչության մոտ 80 տոկոսը ու Եվրոպայի բնակչության շուրջ կեսը ըստ էության չի կարող գիշերային երկնքում տեսնել Ծիր Կաթինը «լուսային աղտոտման» չափազանց բարձր մակարդակի պատճառով, ասվում է Science Advances ամսագրում հրապարակված հոդվածում:
«ԱՄՆ-ում մեծացել է մի սերունդ, որը երբեք երկնքում չի տեսել Ծիր Կաթինը: Դա տիեզերքի մեծ մասն է, որը մենք հիմա աստիճանաբար կորցնում ենք»,- ասել է Քրիոստոֆեր Էլվիջը Կոլորադո նահանգի համալսարանից:
Լուսային աղտոտումը տեղանքի բնական լուսավորվածության խախտումն է լույսի արհեստական աղբյուրների գործողության հետեւանքով, որը կարող է անոմալիաների պատճառ դառնալ բույսերի ու կենդանիների կյանքում: Լուսային աղտոտման հիմնական աղբյուրները խոշոր քաղաքներն են ու արդյունաբերական համալիրները: Լուսային աղտոտումը ստեղծվում է փողոցային լուսավորությամբ, լուսարձակող գովազդային վահանակներով կամ պրոժեկտորներով: Եվրոպայում շատ դիսկոտեկներ հզոր լույսի ճառագայքներ են ուղղում գիշերային երկինք:
Էլդվիջը ու նրա գործընկերները պարզել են, որ աղտոտման նման ձեւը մոլորակի բնակիչների 30 տոկոսին արդեն զրկել է գիշերային երկնքում Ծիր Կաթինի «ժապավենին» նայելու հնարավորությունից:
Նրանց հաշվարկները ցույց են տալիս, որ մարդկանց 80 տոկոսը ապրում է այնպիսի տարածքներում, որտեղ նկատվում է լուսային աղտոտման բարձր մակարդակ: Եվրոպացիների կեսից շատը ու 5 ամերիկացիներից 4-ը չեն կարող տեսնել Ծիր Կաթինը, որը գիշերային երկնքում ամենավառ օբյեկտներից մեկն է:
Այս առումով Երկրի ամենաաղտոտված վայրը Կահիրեն է, Եգիպտոսի մայրաքաղաքի շրջակայքում նույնիսկ տեսողությունը լարելու դեպքում գրեթե անհնար է երկնքում տեսնել Ծիր Կաթինը ու նույնիսկ մի շարք աղոտ աստղեր: Լուսային աղտոտման բարձր մակարդակ է նաեւ Լոնդոնում, Բոսթոնում, Հոնկոնգում, Պեկինում ու այլ խոշոր քաղաքներում:
Գիշերային երկնքի ամենալավ տեսանելիությունը Աֆրիկայի զարգացող երկրներում է, նաեւ Ավստրալիայոմ ու Գրենլանդիա կղզու տարածքում:
Գիտնականների խոսքով լուսային աղտոտման վիճակը առաջիկա տարիներին կարող է շատ ավելի վատանալ, քանի որ զարգացած ու զարգացող երկրների մեծ մասը հալոգենային ու լյումինեսցենտային լամպերից կանցնեն լուսադիոդային լուսարձակների: Այս քայլը Էրդվիջի խոսքով եռակի կբարձրացնի լուսային աղտոտման մակարդակը, քանի որ լուսադիոդները ավելի շատ լույս են արձակում սպեկտրի կապույտ մասում, որում մեր աչքերը հատկապես զգայուն են:
