Բրիտանական Sunday Times պարբերականը տեղեկացել է Միացյալ Թագավորության իշխանությունների «գաղտնի ծրագրի» մասին, որը ենթադրում է երկրի սահմանների բացումն ու անայցագրային ռեժիմի հաստատումը Թուրքիայի 1.5 մլն քաղաքացիների համար:
Բրիտանացի դիվանագետների կարծիքով, դա շատ խորհրդանշական քայլի կլինի Թուրքիայի հանդեպ: Նշվում է նաև, որ բրիտանական իշխանությունները տվյալ փաստաթուղթը ցանկացել են գաղտնի պահել մինչև հունիսի 23-ը, երբ կայանալու է Մեծ Բրիտանիայի՝ Եվրոպական Միության կազմից դուրս գալու հարցով հանրաքվեն:
Պարբերականն այս մասին տեղեկացել է Միացյալ Թագավորության արտգործնախարարության՝ իր ձեռքի տակ հայտնված մի շարք գաղտնի փաստաթղթերից:
Աղբյուրը մանրամասնում է, որ անայցագրային ռեժիմը նախատեսված է այն 1.5 մլն թուրքերի համար, ովքեր նախկինում ունեցել են այսպես կոչված հատուկ անձնագրեր: Դրանք հիմնականում եղել են կառավարության անդամներ, պետաական աշխատողներ, ինչպես նաև դասախոսներ և ուսուցիչներ:
Այժմ իշխանությունները մտադիր են այդ անձնագրերի տերերի համար չեղարկել այցագրային ռեժիմն ու անարգել Մեծ Բրիտանիա այցելելու իրավունք տալ:
