Գարեգին Նժդեհի արձանի տեղադրումը Երևանում սպասվածից մեծ արձագանք ստացավ: Հետաքրքիր է, ՌԴ ԱԳՆ պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Մարիա Զախարովայի անդրադարձը Երևանի կենտրոնում Նժդեհի արձանի տեղադրմանը. «Ռուսաստանում զարմացած են Երևանում Գարեգին Նժդեհի արձանի տեղադրմամբ»,- ասել է Զախարովան` նշելով, որ հայտնի է Մոսկվայի վերաբերմունքը՝ նացիզմի, նեոնացիզմի, ծայրահեղականության որևէ արտահայտության նկատմամբ:

Սկսենք նրանից, որ ՌԴ ԱԳՆ ներկայացուցչի հայտարարությանը նպատակահարմարությունը հարցականի տակ է, քանի որ եթե հաշվի առնենք, որ ապրիլյան պատերազմի օրերին և դրանից հետո հասարակության շրջանում որոշակի լարվածություն կար Ռուսաստանի նկատմամբ Ադրբեջանին զենք վաճառելու պատճառով, ապա ՌԴ ԱԳՆ ներկայացուցչի այս հայտարարությունը լրացուցիչ առիթ է ստեղծում, որպեսզի հասարակությունը բացասաբար տրամադրվի ՌԴ-ի նկատմամբ:

Ինչ վերաբերում է Զախարովայի հայտարարության բովանդակությանը, ապա պետք է նշել, որ Նժդեհն իր գործով է ցույց տվել իր մեծությունը: Նժդեհը առանցքային դերակատարություն է ունեցել հատկապես թուրքերի դեմ մղված 1918թ-ի մայիսյան հերոսամարտերի ժամանակ, երբ երբ դրված էր հայ ժողովրդի և հայոց պետականության գոյության հարցը: 1921թ-ին Նժդեհը կազմակերպեց Լեռնահայաստանի` Զանգեզուրի պաշտպանությունը և Զանգեզուրը լքեց այն ժամանակ, երբ երաշխիք ստացավ, որ Սյունիքը մնալու էր Հայաստանի կազմում։

Տրամաբանական է, որ Նժդեհի անցած ճանապարհը ակնառու է դարձնում, արձանի տեղադրումը կարող է վրդովմունք առաջ բերել Ադրբեջանում, սակայն այս իմաստով ՌԴ ԱԳՆ ներկայացուցչի զարմանքը ոչ միայն անհասկանալի է, այլև՝ անտեղի:
