Միչիգանն օրենքի ուժով Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ներառել է կրթական ծրագրերում

 Միացյալ Նահանգների Միչիգան նահանգի նահանգապետ Ռիք Սնայդերը ստորագրել է Ցեղասպանության մասին կրթության HB 4493 օրենքի նախագիծը: Այս մասին տեղեկացրին Ամերիկայի հայկական համագումարից (AAA):

«Միչիգանում սովորողներին ցեղասպանության մասին կրթություն տալը կարևոր է, քանի որ մենք պետք է հիշենք և սովորենք մեր անցյալում տեղի ունեցած սարսափելի իրադարձությունների մասին` աշխատելով ավելի հանդուրժող հասարակություն ստեղծելու շուրջ»,- ասել է Միչիգանի նահանգապետը:

Պաշտոնական օրենսդրության մեջ ասվում է, որ 2016-2017 թվականների ուսումնական տարվանից սկսած Միչիգանի դպրոցական տնօրենների խորհուրդը պետք է երաշխավորի, որ հանրակրթական դպրոցների 8-12-րդ դասարանների կրթական ծրագրերում կա ցեղասպանության մասին ներածություն:

«Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը և Հոլոքոստը չեն կարող մոռացվել»,- նշել է նահանգի սենատոր Մարտի Նոլենբերգը:

Հայոց ցեղասպանության կրթության կոմիտեի (AEGC) ակտիվ անդամներից մեկը` Ջոն Ջամյանը, ով նաև Ամերիկայի հայկական համագումարի Միչիգանի մասնաճյուղի ղեկավարն է, կարևորել է Միչիգանում Ցեղասպանության կրթության մասին օրենքի ընդունումը: «Այս հաջողությունը ցույց է տալիս, որ համայնքի առաջնորդների համատեղ աշխատանքի շնորհիվ մենք կարող ենք մեծ նվաճումներ ունենալ»,- ասել է նա:

Միչիգանն այսպիսով հետևել է ԱՄՆ մյուս վեց նահանգներին, որոնք ցեղասպանության մասին կրթությունը ներառել են կրթական ծրագրում: Միչիգանից առաջ դա արել էին Իլինոյիս, Կալիֆորնիա, Ռոդ Այլենդ, Մասաչուսեթս, Նյու Յորք և Նյու Ջերսի նահանգները:
